Moxxi's heartbreaker not giving lifesteal?

I completed the side mission safe and sound, and got the shotgun. I read it online that it can restore player's health.
i tried burning enemies and nothing happened?? Also on the gun it dosent say anything about restoring my health

All Moxxi weapons will heal you when they are in your hand. The Heartbreaker heals for around 2% of damage dealt.
The highest is the Grog Nozzle at 65%, with the Rubi at around 12.5%.

That gun can be fun. It'll revive you by 2% of the damage you inflict like most Moxxi Sig weapons - too small to be noticed in some situations but still more helpful than nothing.

Oh yes, i tried using that weapon again, but this time without my class mod and shield. It definitely did heal me. As you said it was too small to be notied before as i was getting healed by my class mod.

Wait until OP8, Moxxi weapons do heal like crazy at OP8.

You noticed the shotgun's also got one of the coolest looking ammo spreads in BL2 - a heart lol - as great a special effect as the Twister's cyclone pattern spread.

The Heartbreaker does indeed heal you, but it's a small amount, dependent on damage done.

While it lacks the raw oomph of some other weapons, it's still one of the ones I have the most fun with (when it's on-level, and I'm fighting flamable enemies).
