I don't know who you mean, but I'm one of them. It's karma for all the money they stole from us SEGA.

About SEGA? Here ya go:

https://www.gamnesia.com/news/gearbox-stole-money-from-sega-used-funding-for-colonial-marines-to-make-oth

TL;DR: Gearbox took money that was given to them by SEGA that was funded for Aliens: Colonial Marines, and used it to fund various other games, including Borderlands 2.

Oh, I'm serious. But hey, at least he's not Anthony Burch! I mean, old Burch doesn't even have a job!

Was A:CM released? Yes

Did it end up being a bad game? Depends on who you talk to, long time Aliens fans say yes, non Aliens fans who like first person shoot-em-up maybe. I know some who really liked the game, they were not long term Aliens fans. The game was real buggy on release from what I read, and nothing like any previous Aliens game. I can understand Aliens fans disappointment, but shooting for and missing the target is hardly evil.

From your link: "Sega is at fault for a few things, but nothing overly terrible. " How about THEY were the ones who released the trailer when Gearbox said it should not be. SAGA set people up for disappointment with that.

As to Burch, I am not a real fan of his, I don't like the SJW thing, but Borderlands 2 is pretty much considered better than Borderlands, Burch was not the lead writer on the first on, he was on the second and more popular one. I liked the feel of both, but the second a bit more.

This is as stupid as the people going on about Gearbox stealing from some short (oops, forgot the name of it now) for Borderlands, if so, they stole it from Mad Max from 1979.

I get that you don't like Gearbox, mine is Electronic Arts. I worshiped them when I had my Commodore 64, in 2003 that ended and they have yet to win me back. I am not, however going around talking trash about them all the time and would not be gleeful if they suffered something like what was linked in OP. That affects people who are trying to support their families, not cool.

I have to wonder about someone who is gleeful at another's pain.

Of course SEGA wasn't blameless, but they didn't steal the money. I mean no harm, nor find humor, towards the people working for Gearbox. My utmost sympathies for them. I've had the rug pulled from my feet too many times to find that funny. But Randy? I mean no ill will towards him either, nor find humor in theft, but it's funny how karma works. He stole money from SEGA, and then had money stolen from him.

But Anthony Burch? His whole SJW act was the least of his problems. Someone busted him, and got him to confess to tricking women who were interested in working for Gearbox to sleeping with him. "If you sleep with me, I'll get ya a job". And he didn't get them jobs. To put it short, he allegedly abused his role of power in Gearbox to get free sex.

Shortly after this was brought to light, he somehow lost his job at Riot, and is currently begging for jobs on Twitter. I wish I was joking:

Really? Cackling with glee?

If Burch did that, I would like to see the justice hammer slam down on him. But, I don't know what laws he might have broken other than being a disgusting sub human. But at the same time, I have nothing good to say about a woman who would use her body to get a job at a place that is not the job. Offering a romp for a job, maybe that is some of your Karma? I know sex sells, but meritocracy is best.

I agree with your statement about Burch, and the women. Yeah, that's pretty karma worthy.

About my comment, apologies. In hindsight, I see how that came across as heartless. I was never "cackling with glee", but just found the story mildly chuckle worthy. That's why I said that. I should have clarified what I meant. I really do feel sorry for the workers, and it sucks for Randy.

Ah, well, it's not like I have not done the same thing from time to time.

I just don't see it as they stole the money, the game was done.

Granted, not the game the Aliens fans wanted, but as I said before, trying and failing is not evil. SAGA should have chosen someone else or done their own work. No one at Gearbox as far as I know were involved in any of the other Aliens games, I suspect they fell back on experience and made a game like the ones they made that people liked, only those were not Aliens game. If you can step back and forget Aliens games, it's not a bad game, it's a huge disappointment to Aliens fans.

SAGA is part of the blame there too, maybe they should have followed the development a bit more and said no no no that is not how an Aliens game is done. I don't know, all I know is the game is out and playable and is an OK game if you don't think of it as an Aliens game. I am also not a long time Aliens fan, so.......

No, I don't think I am a fanboi, I know Gearbox is not a Band of Angels any more than any of the others are, but I just don't think they stole anything. They are also not the first to take money from one group and use it to pay for something else and then use money from another source to do what the first gave the money for. As long as the first gets the product, I see no theft.

I never played Alien Colonial Marines, so I can't comment on the quality of it. I agree though, SEGA should have kept better tabs on Gearbox. The reason people say GBX stole money from SEGA, is because SEGA gave GBX money to make the game. "Here is the money, use it to make the game". GBX ignored that, and spent it on Borderlands 2, and I think a Duke Nukem of some sort.

It's like commissioning an artist to paint a picture, and they take that money to make your painitng, and create their own paintings. Yeah, you could still get that painting, but your money was still burnt on things you didn't intend or consent.

But Gearbox is nothing fancy. Just another shady, greedy company. XD

Edit: I just realized you're calling them SAGA. Are you doing that on purpose? If you are, that's hilarious.
