Legendary Titan Class Mod: Reasonable to expect?
I'm hoping to make a level 72 Salvador Tank build. Now, I like to think I'm pretty patient, but I'm not exactly "shiny hunting" patient. I know there are a ton of things in this game that are incredibly rare and hard to get, and require hours and hours of grinding the same location.

Assuming that I was level 72, on UVHM, and in caustic caverns, what would be your estimation for how long it would take to get the Legendary Titan Class Mod? Unlike most other planned items in this build I'm going for (Grog Nozzle, Rubi, Rough Rider, etc.) this one isn't reliant on a quest or anything like that. I'd assume that it's equally likely to get it as most other legendary class mods that drop from chubbies, so experiences grinding for similar items would also help.

Any information is appreciated!

I don't know what the actual drop rate is, but I think I've just come across most of the high level legendary mods I've found in the course of regular play (just leveling and doing quests), rather than actually trying to farm for them.

As in, doing quests in UVHM? I should be doing that for a bit after I get there, I plan to farm for the class mods last. Any particular activities that caused more to drop, or for Salvador ones to drop?

As far as I know, the best way to get class mods (and things like heads and skins) for a particular character is to actually play that character.

As for the activities, just do things where you're more likely to encounter Chubbies. The Caustic Caverns is a good place, the area behind Ellie's place in the Dust, the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve ... anywhere where you're likely to see a lot of animals.

other locations that can have Chubby's / Tubby's are :

Arid Nexus Badlands - Skags
Highlands Outwash, and Extraction Plant - Stalkers

why would you want that? you need to focus on getting the legendary gunzerker, its by far the best class mod

Some builds can work better with different class mods, but it´s true that a good build with Legendary Gunzerker is better than any other

I care particularly little about DPS. My main focus with most builds is to be as hard to kill as possible, a tanky, mobile bulwark that flips off the grim reaper. From what I have seen, legendary titan is the best mod for that purpose.

Well for raid bosses this isn´t the best build

Kinda.
If your main way of survival would be a moxxi weapon in left hand legendary gunzerker will be better due to very long gunzerking time
Titan will be better for survivabilty outside your action skill

Yeah, I've chosen to focus more on general tanking rather than just gunzerker tanking. Basically, I'll go in hot, and once my health gets low, I'll gunzerk for (almost) max health and (almost) enough health regen to negate incoming damage. God bless the brawn tree. If even that gets bad, I can use "come at me bro" to fully restore my HP back to max. I think at that point it's kind of hard to improve, so I do think being able to tank better on cooldown is a better focus for me.

Well, fair enough, but sometimes for me it's not really about being the "best" in general and more just being the best of one particular skill, in this case tanking.

Farming for the Tubby COMs is highly inconsistent by it's nature. If I had to make a *VERY* rough estimate I'd say it'll take between one and five hours. It could also take fifty. There really isn't a helpful or simple answer to this question, just ask yourself if you want to spend potentially double digit hours of your life doing an asinine task.

I guess I can throw some numbers at you from the embarrassingly long amount of time that I've spent doing this stuff. Farming either of the Arid Nexus zones I get about one tubby every 10 minutes. Killing a tubby is guaranteed to give you something, and from there I'd guess that it's a 1 in 15-30 chance to get what you want.

Ok, that's pretty helpful. At your lowest estimate, It'd take around 5 hours, as you said, of straight grinding, but that also doesn't include duplicates and such, as well as the chance that I get what I want sooner than the last. I'd say if it goes beyond double digits, I'll just try and trade. I'd have plenty of class mods at that point, anyway.

I think you get more tubbies in coop
