Finished B2, get DLC .. or get Pre-Sequel?
Just wondering what's more recommended by people that played both?

Finished Borderlands 2 with a friend, was awesome, loved the story & atmosphere (music too!) and we restarted. Think we're about halfway through the 2nd playthrough (lv35 ish). But I want some new story so I'm thinking either getting some of the good DLC for Borderlands 2, which I hear some are amazing and I can continue playing my character and listening to the awesome music they have in this game (seriously the artist is amazing, I believe he also made the music for Assassins Creed 2, which was my all-time favorite).

OR I want to get the Borderlands Pre-Sequel which seemingly got either mixed reviews or amazing reviews (certain things seem better than B2, other things less good). But it's in space and I have a really soft spot for "spacey" games, one of my favorites were Freelancer, then Mass Effect series, etc. I just love space. It's freedom. Whatever, it's really awesome to me so I'm tempted to just get the pre-sequel instead.

BUT which is best? Just get a bunch of DLC for Borderlands 2 - or get the Pre-Sequel? Thoughts?

I'd say get some DLCs much better bargain. And the DLCs will most likely last you longer than TPS, jsut look at my BL2 compared to the Pre Sequel.

I think getting the DLC is alot better because they are a lot of fun and TPS isn't as fun in my opinion i played through it once and got bored so i'd definitely say DLC

Playing DLC's give you more hours of fun than BL.Tps

Get the DLC for sure. The Pre-Sequel, including the optional DLC's is smaller in size than the base BL2 game. It is different - gameplay, low gravity, no oxygen in places, Lasers (pew, pew, pew!), and new characters to play. Including Claptrap. Yay. The game was developed by 2K Australia, so a lot of the characters, dialogue, humour, references etc are Australian. This may or may not annoy you / amuse you / make you wish just wish it would stop.
When I reached the end, completed all the missions etc, my thought was 'Is that it?'
If you like the whole Borderlands universe, and have played Borderlands as well as BL2, then get TPS on sale. It does explain some things in BL2. "Ah, so that's why [whatever] is the way it is. That makes some sense now."
The optional TPS Claptrap's Fantastic Voyage (or something like that) really is one of the best DLC's in the entire Borderlands franchise. I personally think the rest of the TPS is worth putting up with just for this DLC alone.

Bottom line - choice between DLC's or TPS, get the DLC's.
Then get the TPS at the next sale.

Can only agree, even as someone who really liked the pre-sequel.

Getting the Game of the Year edition for Borderlands 2 in a sale is cheaper than TPS + Season pass (you'd want the season pass, or at least the Claptastic Voyage).

Playing through the 4 DLC campaigns in the GOTY edition will likely net you more playtime per difficulty than you'd need for TPS + Claptastic Voyage. Those campaigns are pretty impressive content wise, and the Tiny Tina and Torgue DLCs are just filled to the brim with the wacky Borderlands humour we all know and love. Not saying the other 2 campaigns are bad, I just enjoy them less.
Plus Krieg and Gaige are both awesome characters who really shake up the gameplay with their active and passive skills.

If you just love everything Borderlands, the pre-sequel is still a good game. There's less innovation in it, with the game looking the exact same and all, but it's many small things that have changed for the better, in my opinion. For example an overhaul to skilltrees in general. Less passive boosts à la "gain % reload speed" and more talents, that actively influence your gameplay, and a faster progression down the skilltree, trimming the fat somewhat.
Again, you would want at least the Claptastic Voyage DLC, because in my view, that campaign is way better than the original game campaign. It's just so well written and the glitch weapons are a fun aspect.
Downside being that you can really feel, that the Devs ran out of time with this game. There's only one DLC campaign and playing through every difficulty once won't even get you to max level. Plus, for some reason, this game just refuses to get any cheaper. Think the price tag stayed the same for 1 or 2 years now.

TL;DR
Borderlands 2 GOTY > Borderlands TPS + Season Pass
and probably cheaper too

The BL2 DLC is relatively dull EXCEPT for the Tiny Tina DLC. BL TPS is relatively dull EXCEPT for Claptastic Voyage DLC. To see just how poor TPS is just look at today's concurrent players on Steam:

Borderlands 2 (2012): 6215
Borderlands TPS (2014): 1138

I want to love TPS simply because I get to play as Claptrap, but the game is indeed half finished and boring IMO.

I mean there are such great things in TPS like the banter depending on who is the host with NPCs, the way the story is told at first and then in following playthroughs (I just love how Tina goes "Tell it again, but make it sound harder" and so on).

Too bad the devs went under and Moneybox couldn't care less about making more content.

I really, REALLY wanted to love TPS. Pricing is still hilarious compared what you get with BL2, too. It's just not enough to do.

Just personal opinion of course.

Love everything about TPS except the fact that it's too short and we will never get close to the content we got with BL2. That, and I find the playable characters uninteresting except for Clappy of course.

So yeah, get the GOTY on a sale, should be around 10-12$ and you will get a LOT of extra content for a ridiculous price.

DLC

I enjoy BL2s endgame content (Specifically the raid bosses and digistruct peak) and that content is within DLC

TPS is just a fun casual game that fills in some story (Kinda like Rogue One of star wars) and I do recommend you pick it up if you want to learn more about the characters
