You're not cheating. You're not playing it your own way. You're fixing their mistake. That's the way I see gibbing weapons and stuff on-level.
I will cheat to save time, not to circumvent difficulty. If I'm learning a raid, dying over and over and run out of money or eridium, am I really going to go to handsome sorceror and farm just so i can get back to figuring out the raid? I can kill him very, very quickly, but still, hell no. I'll gib in money or E so I can continue working on what I'm working on. I will not, however, cheat my BAR or gib in a weapon I might want to try if Im having difficulty beating something. I wont exploit, either. But its only a game, and at some point, Im just saving real-world time, not making anything easier. This does not apply to weapon parts, and the compounded odds of getting all the right parts, because given the low droprates for legendaries, farming for a perfect-parted item creeps out of the realm of time spent and becomes practically impossible in many cases. I have dealbreaker parts for my favorite gear and stuff i can live with.I will take any pimpernel, so long as it has a 10 or greater mag and the desired element. My elemental bees need only have sub-6.5 second delays, etc., etc. I have a lot of good gear, but very few "perfect" items. They are all farmed.
I know it doesn't work the same because the loot is leveled in this game but you didn't have to do this in D2 or TL2. For that reason I don't feel bad at all gibbing up-to-date levels on gear you found and like (uniques and legendary mostly).
I also find weird there is no customizing function on guns. In a world with such technology, how hard can it be to replace a stock with another brand. It's not like effects on weapons are magic.
