^ That.
Just make sure you don't complete the quest. Also, I believe whatever level you acquire the quest grog it will also scale by your gear level (from 1 - OP8). As you're leveling in-game, you may need to unequip then re-equip, or map/zone out - if you want the grog to scale abreast. Otherwise, save and quit. Then continue.
It doesn't take long to get to the Mines of Avarice to initiate the side quest. Only challenging part (solo), I would think is the boss battle with the Ghost Kings prior to . Good luck!
idc if its gibbed or whatever that is.
You could get the grog as a unique item that could be dropped a few years ago but now everyone gibs them in for fun because it's a tad broken.
yeah I heard that the Golden Golem dropped it during the 2013 Loot Hunt, which I sadly missed (didn't start playing this game until late 2014/early 2015)
or is it better to have a high lvl grog?
Ignore the gun damage numbers - they are irrelevant.
im currently op1 and planning to go even higher, and i know that i cant get a second grog once i accept the mission, unless i redo the game in op8
The Grog has no level since its a mission only item. It will scale with you, it does not matter at what level you are when you get it.
*** It is not a gun for causing damage. ***
Use it for slagging and use it for healing. It converts 65% of any damage you cause with grenades etc directly to healing, which is why Sal is pretty much unkillable when he has one in the off hand and a DPUH in the right.
So yes, get one at OP1. It will last you all the way to OP8. Then do an UVHM reset and do an OP8 playthrough for some hardcore fun.
