Yes they do.
Google is your friend:
http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Chain_Reaction
"Ricochets take full advantage of any gun damage boosts, so skills or items that increase bullet damage - including a user's Amplify Shield - will have the full effect on both the initial hit and the ricochet. This is notable, as it means that using Chain Reaction essentially gives you a chance to double the effectiveness of any gun damage boosts already in effect. "
The skill also has a synergy with guns with bullets that split like the pimpernel or a ricochet fibber. Each one of the child pellots has a chance of splitting again upon contact.
To have it actually chain react, you need to have two enemies that are fairly close to together. It works best when you can have 10 enemies all clumped together rather than 2 or 3 that are spread apart. So you really almost need to use converge and then maybe a singularity grenade to get the bunch tightly grouped.
In general I use google because its faster than posting a question in the forum.
Bad luck this time.
Anyways, thank you ;)
You know he had a link in the post, right? And in said link, there is literally a point that says, and I'm copying it all

Whats you point?
I used google and didn't find that article.
But I still wanted to know if amp damage affects chain reflection, so I started this thread.
2nd result on Google for the exact thing you searched for. First is a forum post saying the same.
On page 2 from google there is the wiki article
I am already playing with the bee and the trickster Class mod tho :)
Before I wasn't sure if I should use Chain Reaction or not, but now I will !
