The only problem with using this method is that you will lose all unlocked skins and golden keys as well, and also any items in Claptrap's stash.
Still interested?
Delete the profile.bin file in your save file folder. This file is where the BAR settings are stored. When you reload your character, the game will create a new profile.bin using data from your save file. You will end up up with a bunch of unallocated tokens that you can re-allocate as you want. The BAR will not change, as this is calculated from your save file.
It is probably a better idea to rename profile.bin to something else rather than simply deleting it. That way if you don't like the results of having to start all over again with skins, you can take things back to what they were.
Now you get to find and unlock all those skins again...
Save file folder is here : (Windows)
My Documents - My Games - Borderlands 2 - WillowGame - SaveData - [long number]
What I mean is, just because you now "know more about the game" doesn't mean you can distribute them as you wish. You will get blocked by the game from overly putting points into gun damage for example.
Very high level players will have their BAR pretty much evenly distributed, more or less - minus skills some pople just ignore and a few variable stats simply because they specced them more, but not (overly) noticably more than anything else.
Point is, you are supposed to gradually and evenly raise all stats (again, more or less).
So no matter how borked you think your BAR stats are, they are not and will even out in time.
Edit: Unless you are nuts about shield regen, say, for certain roid builds or whatnot. But even then, well, tough luck. Reset completely or don't, your choice.
Fair enough, I was hoping maybe I could email gearbox and ask if they could just give me some tokens back because I regret not investing in certian stats more, now that I know what I want more of. I guess not though, im not interested in altering my files or resetting my game completely.
Ahh, yes, there is a (fairly easy) way to do that. You'll need access to a Mac. The Mac save editor (Bordertool 2) can edit the Profile.bin file. That includes adjusting (or comepletely reseting) Badass Ranks.
My understanding is that the files are the same, so if you copy your existing Profile.bin file you should be able to open it and edit it.
Provided you either have, or can borrow a Mac for a few minutes.

Does this profile editor for Windows not work?
http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/borderlands-2-profile-editor.916868/
Man you dont sound like an elitiest douche or anything. Thats also not what im looking for.
Bye.
No idea, I've never used it. On the Mac side, Bordertool2 does everything in one app.
People tell me Gibbed doesn't work on the Profile.bin file, beyond that, I haven't really looked into what it takes to edit it using Windows.
Go figure.
I dont want to edit game data, I was asking for an official way that wont involve tampering and cheating. I doubt you read my edit and youve added nothing to the thread in your 3 posts, you can leave now, your no better then the Yishai guy who was alsobeing a douche.
Nice job with that reading though, really hilights your preetensious attitude and ignorance. Pairs nicely.
Thread provides a way to do what he wants.
OP becomes angry and throws tantrum.
Makes sense.
