Randy Pitchford's attitude towards the fan base on twitter

This was a comment made by a fan over the down voting of Borderlands 2 and Randy Pitchford's little outburst as the CEO of Gearbox he should of known better than to act like this and all it has done has left a bad taste in my mouth supporting Gearbox or 2K from here on out. More or less Randy more or less crying over the misuse of the review system and the down voting that has been going on

His quote "Makes me Kind of happy about 2k's decision and makes me want to reconsider Gearbox Publishing's current posture on the platform" So a fan responded

"This would not have happened if there wasn't an exclusivity deal. You, 2K, or whoever is responsible brought it upon themselves, and it is their fault for everyone being♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥off."

And Randy Pitchford freak out moment “I wouldn’t hit you if you didn’t deserve it. It’s your fault I am hitting you.” WTF is wrong with you and this victim blaming ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t. Kindly ♥♥♥♥ off, troll."

He represents a company and more or less threatens steam users with a boycott and it speaks bounds about Gearbox and him as a whole and I might be one of a few but Gearbox won't get a single thing off me from here on out

Well, at least you linked the ACTUAL twitter feed instead of a screen capture of it.

Pitchford has been dealing with a huge (and apparently unexpected) backlash from the decision to make BL3 an Epic Games exclusive. He's got all kinds of "fans" screaming at him over his twitter feed. (The fact that the backlash is unexpected is on him (and 2K, and Sweeney), but still, I think he was blindsided by it to some extent).

He's not exactly my favorite guy at the moment, but I don't blame him for getting a bit short tempered, not in the slightest. People are being jerks to him.

While.. Yes civil discussion is a must he can turn off twitter you don't need it to breath if he can't take criticism calling someone a troll while you are a CEO of a company speaks bounds about his views on the player base as a whole. And there has been a rumor floating around that Randy pushed it to be a Epic exclusive nothing as proven fact as of yet.

How is reviewing a developer going to change anything. I normally put a small thought about the developer in most of my reviews any way.

I have posted a review I think about one game which has Titov involved, and people still bought the game.

"You, 2K, or whoever is responsible brought it upon themselves, and it is their fault for everyone being pissed off." that's false critisim against randy, he's very clearly had nothing to do with the deal. I've never really like randy in the past he always commits unforced errors but in this case randy's point of view is right. He's been and still being personally blamed for 2k's decision to take epic's deal. So yes, literal victim blaming when he not 2K is met with the backlash.

Also if you, other's can't handle cursing please don't play Borderlands.

Try to look at this from his point of view: He is taking a lot of flak from supposed "fans" over a decision made by the publisher, that is, not him as to where the game will be available on release.

He is frustrated that Steam, which has had unrivaled dominance in the PC game market for years, takes it's 30-percent cut from publishers - no doubt passed on to developers - to make games available on a platform that is at best loosely managed. Developers and publishers who work with Steam pay a premium price in exchange for which they are left vulnerable to the tantrums of a small subset of fans who will review-bomb and spout vitriol over things not directly related to the games themselves.

If I were a developer or a publisher, a platform that takes a 12% cut and has no system whereby that small subset of fans can pitch their various fits would be awfully appealing, with or without an exclusive deal.

Yeah, my bad. I came off as rude in that comment. I just have a sour taste in my mouth with The Quartering. I made it so he would quit showing up in my YouTube feed because of his shenanigans.

Yet on twitter and on his Twitter Bio It speaks about Gearbox ♥♥♥♥ it even links to Gearboxes website. From a outsider looking in he represents the company as Ceo his words could be taken at face value. I mean look at the Dev who worked on Guild wars 2 who spoke to a fan like trash she got fired for it. If this was Randy's private twitter page that would be different
