So will Epic Borderlands 3 Crossplay with Steam Borderlands 3? This is the important question.

Honestly, if not, they've divided their playerbase - and that's a terrible thing. This will be like having to own another copy/console to play with your friends.

EDIT: Honestly, yeah, I'm not expecting it. Unless Gearbox sets up multiplayer servers in order to announce a host, matchmaking, etc - it's gonna have to run through Epic or Steam's friend lists. It's just crazy - We went from a world where consoles didn't have crossplay to one where PC gamers are going to be divided when they're playing the exact same game!

Neither Borderlands 1 or 2 use dedicated servers. Steam is only a middleman.

Shift accounts will probably serve as authentication for multiplayer in BL3 so "platform" is irrelevant.

I expect I'll have friends that can't contain themselves in wait. So should they be expected to buy a second copy for Steam or should I buy one for Epic, and possibly lose out on Steam friends?

lol right? I'd really like for someone to get the word out about this to find out if no matter which store I buy from, I can still play with my friends.
