Normally, and this goes against everything I usually believe about pc versions of games but owning both console and pc version seems the console version is indeed superior when it has HDR for a game with the colorful artstyle that borderlands has. Why the ♥♥♥♥ didn't Gearbox add this in I have no idea and if this happens to BL3 as well then I will be buying it on console.
It also has splitscreen that works out of the box without hacky solutions that dont carry over your sp account

pc trumps consoles in general, if we need a controller we can just plug one in ;p

Are you sure? this is an old game so it should be able to run it at true 4k, as i said it has HDR which is a big deal.

Even on an older game like BL2 you need at least an i5-3570k, 8GB RAM, and GTX 1070 (8GB VRAM) to play 4k/60 fps on this game.

If this game is running 4k/60 fps on console it has one or more of the following 'optimizations':

-reduced visuals such as particles, shader effetcs, lighting, etc.
-interlaced or checkerboard rendering (checkerboard is literally the same amount of pixels rendered as interlaced)
-rendering internally @ 1080p but output resolution to 2160p.
True, i hope we get HDR too.

But the real question is: Why doesn't have the PC-version HDR? They made it for the console-version, so it can't be that hard to implement it also for the PC. Most of the newer PC-games have HDR and i love it. So why? I don't get it.

The performance with the texture pack really sucks though.

I like how people are mentioning mods as a bonus when this update literally broke them.

Yes because that totally doesn't happen with literally every single game that has mods available.

LOL but can console run the game at 144fps? I don't think so.

The Xbox One X now at least supports 120hz and also 1440p but it's either 120hz 1080p HDR or 30-60hz 4K HDR because of HDMI 2.0 restrictions 4K 120hz isn't possible no matter if supported or not.

Also about native 1440p, games with enhanced 4K UHD HDR support will be supersampled down to 1440p while games only supporting 1080p (never meet one) will then be upscaled to 1440p.

Also all games currently have the enhanced 4K UHD HDR 30fps (only few have 4K UHD HDR 60fps) and many especially the newer ones also have additionally an 1080p 60fps performance mode.

I hope so too. My cheap TV connected to my PC has HDR capabilities, but isnt 100% compliant. I get the better color gamut, but lack the necessary nitts. Still, HDR looks great. Yellowish lights become white, Claire's red looking outfit in RE2 remake looks more natural pink.
Yeah, HDR should be a standard in all games by now
EnigmaBeaver™ 4/abr./2019 às 1:26
Still doesn't beat Gsync/ULMB 165hz now that are some colors, HDR is only good if the damn screen and hardware can put it trough, and Console HDR is even worse than a phone HDR as it's not true HDR. even my friends say it that use it, but yeah future games do need HDR10 or Dolby HDR on PC as that's where it's at
