Interesting question: you will receive very varied answers. Some will say never farm if you can get through without it; others will say start farming with Knuckledragger at level 2. It really depends on how you like play.

You may as well, at least if only just a bit to get some of your most desired weapons. Farming does become mission-critical later in the game thru the higher levels of UVHM so you may as well get familiar with it now.

Extremely, generally speaking most people don't start farming until UVHM because then everything scales with you. That Hornet you got from Knuckledragger at the start of TVHM that was always level 35 or so? Now you can grab one +/- a level or two of your level.

Also, another interesting thing to point out is in UVHM your weapons degrade faster. Most will only be good for 5 levels at best, most usually only manage 2 or 3, so farming is recommended. In TVHM or NVHM for that matter you can run around with pretty much anything you find. I know I got a Flakker out of a Bullymong pile on my Axton that was level 12 that lasted me until almost the start of TVHM.

I just finished TVHM with Maya lvl 50 and I didn't need anything special. I was using random weapons of my leavel. So I think is better start on UVHM.

was u playing solo?

Yes solo
Once you hit level 50, you should kick over to UVHM ASAP. Farming items in TVHM and pushing your level over 50 will just guarentee that you will get your butt kicked all the harder by UVHM.

what kind of farming are you talking about ? farming for gear in general, or for specific items ?

in NVHM and TVHM, there are several areas i farm for gear.
Three Horns Divide, Thousand Cuts, and the red Loot Chest under Blake Bridge in the Highlands.
there's also the loot chest just before BNK3R, and the red chest at the end of Hero's Pass.

in UVHM, i go to the Torgue DLC and complete the Appetite for Destruction mission to gain access the the Arena. this gives me 6 red chests to loot. 3 in Badass Crater, and 3 in the Arena.

in UVHM, you NEED to farm fairly constantly.

In UVHM you constantly farm ~ the higher the level particularly into the OP levels, the more critical constant farming becomes cos it's essential you maintain favored weapons at your current level (or within one or perhaps two levels of your current level, though I don't recommend two behind for players with less than 1,000 hours in the game).

Please pause here to think about this and let it sink in ~ you're equipping eight weapons so that means you'll need to refarm these eight at each new, higher OP level. The farming is a serious matter in UVHM & mainly in the OP levels in BL2 and there's no cutting corners on it in those eight final levels.

You can't let your weapons fall behind cos they're all you've got to stay competitive with the fighting strength of your enemies ~ that's cos you can't gain XP above level 72 in this game, but your enemies continue gaining XP above level 72 ~and~ at an exponential rate per level. So in those final, eight highest game levels, your weapons are all you've got to keep you alive up to the game's maximum level 80 / OP8. Have fun (y)
