Torgues badass crater of badassitude
Scarletts pirate booty whatever it's called
Hammerlocks campaign
these 4 are the main DLC's, they may come bundled in a GOTY extension. If so get em that way.
If they are individual, I would suggest getting the first 3 and not bother with hammerlock. It isn't as satisfying to play as the others. It's short, there is a one time loot out of it. Seem's like there isn't as much replay out of it.
The above 4 DLC's also come with their own set of challenges to help you grind more badass.
There are 9 DLC that add maps and missions, then two playable characters that play different than the base four and that is added game play because they don't play the same.
Larger campaign DLCs
Torgue's Badass Crater
Captain Scarlett's Pirates Booty
Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt
Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep
Head Hunter packs ( single map short campaigns)
Bloody Harvest
Wattle Gobbler
Mercenary Day
Wedding Day Massacre
Son of Crawmerax
Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 adds Digistruct Peak map, but that is mostly useful for earning over power levels once you reach level 72, and that requires also having the first Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack.
Handsome Collection starts to look real good, real awesome when on sale.
PS When answering people's questions about the game, I don't discuss the various corporate so~called marketing aka bundling packages. Why not? Well because I buy my games from Steam and other honorable distributors that have better prices / bundles ~ companies like Humble Bundle and MacGamestore dot com give you the Steam Keys for all games you buy that are playable here, so you can keep all your purchases in your Steam library and play them with your Steam friends if you like.
I prefer to buy the DLC individually, that's why I asked which they were... ;)
However thanks a lot guys, It's just what I wanted to hear. ;)
Ehm... what's the psycho pack? It's just a caracther or has it mission inside? A friend of mine told me he played with the Psycho... XD
Ok. So it's just a new character for the main story?
Ok, got it!
Thanks! ^_^
You should also be aware that the price for the Handsome collection also includes an entire second game: Borderlands The Pre-Sequel. BL:TPS isn't quite as good as BL2, but it's still well worth playing and uses pretty much exactly the same game engine and UI.
So ... even at $60 USD, you're still getting about $100-120 USD value out of it.
The next big store-wide Steam sale should be in late June: https://www.whenisthenextsteamsale.com/
The value you get by buying the big collection shouldn't be under-estimated.
However, if you would really prefer to buy piece-meal, then I'd suggest you look at the GOTY version and the Ultimate Vault Hunter 2 pack.
Those two packs will give you the bulk of the story content.
You'll also get Gaige and Krieg and a bunch of smaller stuff (not cosmetic, but actual game-play items).
No, it's not. When it is, it is something like $15.00 for someone who has none of it. The discount shown now is saving in getting a bundle, not a real sale.
Yes you're right. I saw 74% discount and I thought it was in sale... XD
Yes it could be interesting to buy the "Handsome", but I'm not interested to all characters mods, 0,99€ each one... they are about 25 and sale or not without buying them I can save some money. Then maybe it's better the GOTY edition for me...
Also keep in mind I won't have friends to play with and I'll play BL2 and relative DLC alone... XD
(So I'll try to wait June then... LOL )
Thanks!!
I play solo most of the time. Only a tiny percentage of the game's content was specificly built for group play (and many players are capable of soloing even that). Despite the apparent appeal (for some people) of co-op play, this game works fine solo.
And the main point is, that the stuff that you do want is included in the Handsome Collection for a vastly discounted price (when it's on sale mind you), and the stuff you don't want is pretty much tossed in for free.
And anything you already own gives you a further discount. So .. the sale prices is $15 USD, but if you already own the base game, then you get an additional $2 or 3 dollars off. Etc, etc.
There's also the Complete Edition (which is sold by the Mac Game Store). That includes all of the non-cosmetic content from BL2 (so it's not quite as good a deal as the Handsome Collection). That runs $60 USD regularly, but goes on sale for $12 USD at regular intervals. Since it gives Steam keys, you can get it for any OS you want.
So ... that's another place to keep an eye on, because they have sales at different times than Steam does: https://www.macgamestore.com/product/3544/Borderlands-2-Complete-Edition/
Ok, this is good to know...
Ok. Understood. I'll check and keep an eye to everything. At the moment I added all the "single" DLCs listed at the beginning of the topic in my whishlist here in steam.
Many thanks to all!
