You do need a non-elemental weapon to use to cause the selected dragon to land. Do not use elemental weapons (esp slag) on the dragons in flight - it will make the immune to elemental effects on landing. I generally use a non-elemental B!tch to get them to land.
Dragon killing order is important. One at a time, so don't just shoot at everything that flies past. They only land after you shoot them, and one at a time is far more manageable than more than one landing at the same time.
Blue Healianth first, then red Incinerator or green Brood and leave purple Boost to last.
The Dragons in normal mode will only drop level 35 gear max, and as you are more than that, it is not really worth farming them for weapons when you are 40.
where would I get a non-elemental B!tch? I already have a legendary fire sniper rifle
I am curious. You are playing in TVHM right now I assume, and going back to the Dragons in normal for eridium? Your other posts have said that you have finished the story already. Finishing TVHM by 40 is quite impressive.
wrong Z00t, here's the following order done properly:
Healianth - heals the other dragons and can potentially knock you clean off the arena
Boost - causes the others to level up
Incinerator - causes the floor to light up (use the Flakker on him when he covers his face with its wings)
Brood - spawns minions to use as Second Winds (he can be saved for last)
You really do need to be level 50 for the start of the 3rd playthrough, UVHM. Why?
In UVHM, the enemies always scale to your level. They are harder to deal with - more hp, have shields, have health regen... Trying to take them on with under level gear really is not a good idea.
If you are planning to get some extra levels and then take on UVHM with an advantage - This Simply Will Not Work. Enemies scale to you
TVHM is capped at 50. Gear generally will not be higher than that. This is why you do need to be level 50 or a little bit over when you start UVHM. So, say you start UVHM at 55, with level 50 gear. The enemies will all be 54 to 56, with bosses like Flynt being 57. Your level 50 guns will really not be that effective against them.
My advice to you right now, is to start TVHM and stick to the story missions and try to get to the Warrior as close to level 50 as you can. I repeat. Starting UVHM with under leveled weapons is Not A Good Idea.
The Lascaux smg always spawns in one of the pools. If you go to the map, leave and return, there should be 2 in the pool. Difficult to describe where the pool is. The tunnel you go into when you go to meet the Firehawk - assorted enemies will spawn on the right, that is the path to the Firehawk. You will see spiderants spawning in the area to the left. Follow that and you will eventually get to the area where Scorch spawns. The Lascaux is in a pool close to the exit - easy to miss. It is a blue rarity smg, just sitting in a pool. Especilly useful in UVHM, it will always be your level and is an easy upgrade every time you feel you need one.
Although I do question the wisdom of leveling Incinerator and Brood up at least once before taking them on.
There are those that deliberately land Brood before Incinerator and leave the little ones as 2nd wind opportunities.
Yeah. Not everybody uses Flakkers.
I can attest to this. UVHM really isn't that much harder than TVHM or NVHM. That said, people always talk about not overleveling, but seldom do they talk about issues with underlevel, and it's not about difficulty. The mobs in UVHM scale up to you but will not scale down to you. I went into UVHM at level 46 with Maya, and was fighting 50+ mobs in UVHM, and the gear they dropped I was not able to use until I leveled up.
That said, being underleveled is not that much of an issue but more of an annoyance. You definitely don't want to be overleveled in UVHM though.
Back to normal mode and do the flakker glitch on them
Easy eriduim if that what u aim for
Put the nukem in your hand instead of the flakker
Then enjoying watching bosses melting because all the projectiles now have the nukem damage
