i suppose it's possible, but i wouldn't count on it.
One of the things to look out for when looking at sniper rifles is that in many cases the color of the weapon means very little and in particular with Zer0. Think of it at as a tier system when looking at non uniques.

Vladof is top of the pack and in particular the Droog. A green Droog will outperform 90% of the uniques and legendary weapons in this game in the hands of a capable player. You can buy them out of vending machines. Check all available loot sources.

Jakobs is next and more so on NVHM and TVHM. Muckamucks and Diaubs are must have weapons. Purples are extremely good and greens are very serviceable as well. Blues suffer from reduced fire rate so it is up to your own personal preference to use them or not.

Maliwan is very close to Jakobs and in UVHM, I would rather take a Maliwan than a Jakobs. There are 2 different kinds of Sniders. One with the Maliwan barrel and the other with the Dahl barrel. You want the one with the Maliwan barrel and sell all the ones with Dahl barrels. Rakehells are one of my favorite guns in the game.

If you never use a Hyperion or a Dahl sniper, you are better off. Just pick them up for their ammo and then sell them. However they do make the best stocks as they will have much less recoil. Ideally, you want something like one of the above mentioned Diab, Droog, or Rakehell with a Dahl stock. Fast firing and very little recoil so that you can keep the sights on the crit spot.

So keep an eye out for the Droogs, Muckamucks, Sniders(Maliwan barrel only), Rakehell, and Diaub. There can be an occasional really good Corinthean(Jakobs barrel on a Maliwan) or possibly a decent Horrorshow(Jakobs barrel on a Vladof), but they really have to be exceptional to compete with the top 5.

You should be aware that the designer who came up with the idea of skeleton mages is a very bad man / woman.

I finally found a use for Dahl sniper rifle's zoomed burst: for fighting large bosses.
In TPS, there's this rifle called The Machine, it's a Vladof that does increased damage and fire rate with sustained fire. It's awesome.
In Tiny Tina's DLC, Murderlin's temple is quite something, especially in UVHM. I'd just rocket launcher skeletal mages when they appear.
Brittle/fractured/crystal skeletons will reflect projectiles.

don't forget the new Amigo Sincero sniper from the "Commander Lilith" DLC", which is basically a more souped-up version of the Trespasser from the base game

Yea i tend to stay away from burst sniper rifles because they aren't very useful unless your hitting a boss/foe that has a large crit area (constructor, some boss's, etc). At lower level i did find a nice burst electrical sniper that was really great, had good magazine and fire rate, i could empty it very fast with burst into something giving a nice initial damage offload.

You can find regular snipers that have a good fire rate, which will do better than a burst sniper vs most foes. Only useful again vs a few enemies. A good assault rifle/smg will burst into stuff much better.

Also you might find other zoom weapons that do great as sniper weapons at short-medium ranges. I had a great revolver i found that actually had a decent magazine size and zoom that at medium range could snipe very well, accurate, and fast.

I play zero with 4 snipers because I use Critical Ascension you just have to know how ammo drops when your under a certain capacity. low level vladofs are good for stacking then aim and shoot them in the face
