Hey Vault Hunters! So im here with question , im green again, started playing again, and jumped to UCP 4.1 and i was playing Tina dlc, and Feeded the "Queen" and she just pooped this gun, first time seeing this color , can someone explain me, would be great!

Gemstone weapons are purple rarity weapons, which are identical to regular purple weapons, except for the skin and a hidden critical hit bonus. Due to this, you cannot get Gemstone rocket launchers, since they cannot get critical hits.

Each manufacturer has a specific Gemstone skin, so for Dahl their weapons can come in Emerald for Bandit it is Quartz, for Jakob it is Citrine, etc.

As for the bonus to critical hit damage, it is relatively small, ranging from 6.5% to 7.5% depending on brand and weapon type, and stacks with any existing critical hit bonuses. The specific bonuses are:

• Jakobs Assault Rifles: +6.5%
  
• Jakobs Shotguns: +6.5%
  
• Pistols, all brands: +7.5% (multiplicative)
  
• All other weapons: +7.5%

This small bonus makes purple rarity guns slightly more useful. For example if you enjoy using a Quad (4-barreled Jakobs shotgun), the Citrine is slightly better than the regular due to the critical hit bonus.

It is speculated that they have other special effects, but these haven't been confirmed properly (yet).

Gemstone weapons can only be obtained from Butt Stallion.

Could've just googled it, but to add to that, the community patch makes gemstones 1 rarity higher than purple. Which just makes them globally better all around in terms of damage and many other attributes.

I want to add to the crit bonus stuff: Zack's values are wrong. They are all 7.5% BUT UNAFFECTED BY ANYTHING ELSE. Multiplicative bonuses don't affect them and penalties don't affect them. They work on their own, alongside other crit bonuses but they don't synergize.

I think it's better damage, higher accuracy and mag size to be specific :>
