February Update Causes Poor Stability in BL2
Prior to Feb 27 update my friends and I could play BL2 for 4-5 hours online without problems. Now All systems have lockups or CTD within 1-2 hours and some times multiple lockups may occur. At this time until a fix is issued the game is no longer playable as a group.

Is there a way to roll back the update or use of Shift to get the original stability?

It's hard to imagine how changing BL2 was going to have any upside reward for BL3, it seems there was only downside risk which is now obvious from the massive feedback from the user community and their inability to now play a stable and enjoyable game.

Also a lot more was changed than cross platform and shift menus. Meaningful changes to game play occurred. For example vehicles in Dust in TVHM are now trivial single shot kills, along with unexplained deaths when standing by vending machines in the building in Lynchwood.

Lynchwood vending machines are dangerous. If you are using one when a train arrives, it will kill you. It passes underneath the machines and the train kill zone seems to extend upwards. Best to use the machines after a train has just passed. :)
Are you using a vehicle while wearing an amp shield? Vehicle weapons get the benefit of your amp shield while you are wearing one.

Thanks for info on vending machines. My friends and I don't use the amp shields unless we're carrying one that we'll sell at next opportunity.

Got back in tonight after latest update fix and game still has random hard crashes. Only way to try and save some progress is to complete a mission, turn in and then exit/save game.

If game crashes and mission not turned in then all non-turned in missions are lost and have to be redone. If game crashes then all elerium, money and weapons in your inventory are lost.

Maybe it's an effort to sabotage the older games to get people to play the newest game.

That may have happened many times across the multiverse.

Considering how bad BL3 is? Probably. I ain't going to digest the BS bitchford has done to BL2.

When you have to resort to steam emulators in order to play an 8 year old game you paid for....

My brother and I ran a test tonight. Playing online in co-op mode the game crashed at about 1-1.5 hours. We then restarted and each played as solo games for another 4 hours without incident. It would appear that these stability issues are related to syncing between multiple client machines.

I read that you didn't need to use pc-cross play and then toggled it off. Apparently you don't need to use it. It's under the network options menu. I don't play with anyone but if you are having problems with this have you tried playing with it off? Hopefully this helps.

You can download an older version of the game from Steam since they keep all versions of their games. That's likely what I will do tomorrow for this game since the devs decided to break it.

This is cool. Didn't know you could do this. https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/8y19sn/downgrading_games/

This is where Steam should start taking notes from Gog. Reverting to an older copy of the game on Steam requires digging up some esoteric commands and making a separate folder to launch the game from. Gog on the other hand has UI options that allow you to revert to an older version that wont force auto-updates on you. (I mention this because Valve often makes mistakes writing code to their client that breaks other parts of it. Auto-Updates are no exception to this)
Even one reason less to buy BL3.

Magic Randy does not want our money. Why is he punishing innocent customers because his epic games adventure turned out to be an epic fail?

He is even insulting the steam platform instead of his own false decisions!

^Basically this. I know how to revert, but the forced updates are a problem, reason for which I ended up resorting to a steam emulator.
