Best way to do true vault hunter mode?

I'm about to do true vault hunter, is this where it's best to save good rewarding gear quest reward/dlc for when you finish the main mission story? or I'm missing something else?

Drawing the best way is to try to get through it without going over level 50 as once you hit level 50 you need to have finished the story so you can move on to Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode where everything scales to your level and since TVHM caps at 50 on gear you really don't want under leveled gear.

I havnt played it in ages, but i just beat TPS, and i come back to play again, got a max lv axton, a 61 krieg and 2 chars ready for their first TVHM, mechro & assassin.

So your saying really, do anything to hit 50 and move onto UVHM. TVHM is just for grinding to 50. Can or should ignore most of the base game, do the dlcs only?

I can barely remember 10% of this game since the last time i would have played it would have been september 2013.

Even my main at lv72 with 14+ days playtime had undiscovered quests and new locations, so i guess that gearbox bundle really did add content.

You need to complete the main story to unlock UVHM, so don't ignore the base game and do DLC's only.

You will not be able to complete all the DLC's in TVHM without ending up well over 50 for the start of UVHM, which is a bad idea.
Just keep an eye on your level andnake sure you do not over-level your character for UVHM.

First off change your skill trees to a build you like if you haven't already, second you want to make sure you have gear as good as it can get for base game so that you can last a long time in TVHM before needing to pick up better versions of them. If you go watch Vinalypumagaming on YouTube you can watch his videos on what he thinks are the better gear to best prepare you for TVHM and UVHM. Vinaly has studdiee the game down to being able to recognize what manufacture parts are on a gun and what each part means on how the gun will act when fired; for example: the hammer buster with vladof barrel, Jacobs grip and magazine and stock, with a vladof scope. Vladof rifle barrels are usually 3 burst when scope and fully automatic when unscoped but is slower and can give a slight boost in base damage... The grip and magazine means you can fire as fast as you can click and you have between 10 and 27 bullets... The stock means you'll have pretty decent accuracy and hardly any sway when ADS... The vladof scope is a x2 scope and takes away some accuracy but can give better fire rate. this example isn't a real version if the hammer buster but the parts are what I was going for.

Actually it's best to over level yourself to 35 or 37 so you can start using g the higher level gear as soon as you find it until you find level 40 gear if you're not already there... Usually level 40 stuff if you get to 37 before going to TVHM
