Cheesing Bosses
This is a place for people to admit when they found an easy way to beat a boss.
Me personally, I was stuck on the Captain Flynt boss fight, kept on dying to him or his cronies, and he'd always activate rage, then kill me, and as he's the only one left, I can't use Second Wind.
I cheesed the boss by equipping a Jakob's Sniper Rifle, going to the area where you can just see the edge of the arena, just head to the area with the New-U station. Flynt will pathfind towards you, and when he is in range, hide, come out again, shoot him in the back of the head with a sniper, and duck back into cover.
Rinse and repeat, you should beat him. If you run out of ammo before defeating him, just replenish supplies at the Ammo Dump point.
Tl:Dr. Flynt kicked my ass, hid in spawn, killed him with a sniper rifle.

the only 'boss' I ever cheesed was the ultimate badass varkid in the creature slaughterdome....for some reason that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ is harder to kill than the final-wave Pyre Thresher dude. standing in the storage-container will stop his aerial-bomb crap from hitting you

Captain Flynt can be handled easily by not staying in his arena. When claptrap opens the gate, jump down and run along the left side and jump down to the ramp. No minions shooting at you, you can retreat to cover if needed and you can run up to the ammo vendor if needed.
Flynt can be eaten by corrosive damage from the Hornet you just farmed from Knuckle Dragger. The corrosive DOT will deal with him, even when he is in his invulnerable phase.

So, stay in the arena and be killed by Flynt and minions, or jump down and take him on on your terms? Tricky decision.

Cheese List (from memory. I don't count sniping spots as cheesing, cause I don't consider sniping cheap.):

Captain Flynt: Use a singularity to pull him from the top of the boat, to the snowy ground. He will not attack you there.

Bad Maw: Singularity him off the cliff (next to the bridge).

Bloodwing: There's a way you can shoot the boss from outside the arena, but often leads to the boss fight being reset.

Pyro Pete the Invincible: Use the pillar-esque rim around the arena to avoid damage from him. He will occasionally get stuck, and be completely vulnerable.

Master Gee the Invincible: What's my favorite soda? Gate Crush (ok that sounded better in my head)

Voracidous the Invincible: Grenade jump to the surrounding rocks of the arena, fall down a hole, and shoot the beast's feet and tail. They will clip through the ground.

Hyperious the Invincible: If you have great timing, standing in the spawn gate can occasionally cause the powerful engineer to glitch out, and become immobile, leaving him defenseless.

It made me giggle.

PS I have never been entirely sure about Flynt's crit spots. I've been told its the back of the head but that is hard to hiit. He does seem to take more damage when you shoot him in the feet from the position recommended by z00t.

No, cheesing it would be grenade jumping through the whole map, and avoiding that contructor from spawning in the first place....:steammocking:

Not a boss but Duke of orc getting stuck on a tree root when I was playing with my partner. Needless to say we whaled away on him for an easy kill :hurray:

actually pal, this critical spot is that T-shaped area on his helmet. it's possible (though quite tricky) to shoot him in the face with a sniper rifle and score critical hits

what left side?

He can answer for himself, but I think the idea is to enter the arena and run left with the intention of jumping down as soon as the cut scene is finished, and dealing with Flynt from the protection of the ramp leading back up to the Ammo machine. That's my standard strategy and only once has Flynt come down to squish me. Two other times he has fallen to the bottom of the elevator. But usually he just rages above you and you spray his feet with EXPLOSIONS from a fine Torgue Weapon.

Jump down from the gate clappy just opened, stay on that side (left) and run in the same direction as Flynt is. There are some beams there with the ramp below. Jump down to the ramp, wait for the cutscene to finish and then sting Flynt with your Hornet. You can move to cover if you want, run up to the vending machine for more ammo if you need to - the Hornet gets through ammo quickly, which is a pain in the early game with no ammo sdu's yet.
With Flynt suitably corroded, you can pick up the Tinderbox, have a good look for Thuderball Fists, ammo up at your leisure and then deal with the minions, and get clappy to the next map.
After getting the vault symbol of course.

It's that and the back of his head. Very similar to Sledge.

well I always used either the Hornet on him, or tossed an Explosive/Corrosive Fastball grenade (if playing on TVHM/UVHM) after taking out his cronies

Mr Torgue Flexington, you really mustn't let Grandma know that you use one of those nasty Dahl Hornets or any corrosive grenades.
