See if you can get a Pearlescent Avenger SMG from the slot machine in the Flamerock Pub (in the Tina DLC) and a Lege Bee shield from the Treants in the Forest (also in the Tina DLC). That slot m/c is the only place in the game where you can obtain an Avenger at your current level (actually at any level below 50 UVHM). That pair should make a quick & happy end to that mission ~ stand in front of that generator to block incomings at any cost.
A Sand Hawk SMG + the Bee will also work as will a Lyuda or Pimpernal Sniper Rifle but they don't give ammo regen like Avenger does and you'll thank yourself for getting that gun at such a low level ~ you can trust me on it. It's the most powerful SMG in the game & a joy to own. Have fun
if so, get Rocko's Modern Strife from Brick in Sanctuary.
this'll give you access to Thousand Cuts for farming.
in TVHM , level max should be 46. there are 4 loot chests with this level of gear.
min. level is about 42. everything else should be around this level.
edit : what, if any, DLC do you have ?
You may have not notice it.
There are 2 choices for you.
1.
Farm legendaries or Purple weapons. But by than, you'll be above level 45 to 48. And if by any chance, your weapons will still be lower than the enemies level's.
2.
Just drop the side quest till you're level 48 to 50. That is to say, make many kills until you level up. Or you can join a friend who is still doing the main mission in TVHM to level up.
If you have friends playing this game, they can help. If you don't have any, just open your game to public.
