No slag weapon build

So im looking for advice on a powerfull build that doesnt have to use a slag weapon for endgame content, im inclined to use axton or maya, i never reached op8 and im worried im going to be forced to switch to slag weapon for every single creature, its annoying and clunky in my opinion.

So... axton slagging with turrets ? maya slagging with phaselock ? are those consistent late game ? Any good builds, im more of a mobbing kind of player but i would want to kill some bosses eventually.

Matching elements+crits (if your gun(s) can score crits, ofc). For some mini-bosses you might need Bee and/or powerful guns, tho.

Since you've already played Maya into the OP levels, you know that she doesn't really "need" any dedicated slag weapons and can handle`slagging via her skill tree choices.
I've soloed her from 1 upto endgame at 80 OP8 and my OP8 builds don't require equipping certain slag weapons that just stay in my inventory but are rarely if ever used including Florentine SMG and Grog. Maya has Ruin and optionally Scorn, and those two manage enemy slagging quite nicely. Get yourself a Magic Missile and you are set.
Axton has his turrets, but they have cooldown. Magic Missiles will help too.

for end game slag is essential cz u will do 3x more dmg with matching element... maya have ruin witch aout slag enemies.. axton have ability with turret to slag but with him u will still need slag wepon like slagga or slag pimp
