People not interested in using the CP can lose guns from their inventory when joining a CP-hosted game. Not cool, nor respectful of those that do this.
Also not everyone likes using the CP or other mods. If looking for players to join you, post in the "looking for players" forum, and indicate level and that you are using [name] mod.
Why do weapons dissappear? I use the UCP 4.1 and often host matches without thinking it could do any damage.
Someone else will have to comment on the technical aspect. I don't know the reason why. It's been discussed here before. Losing guns does happen.
Had two friends indicate the same just days ago, they were pretty angry, even though they'd backed up their save files beforehand. Seems they'd independently joined the same modder's game in public, at different times. But with the same result. They were angry at something else the host did, just can't recall at the moment. They were running a series of mods. I think the CP was one of them.
My layman's guess is simply to say that the CP wasn't thought through enough to prevent this, or perhaps it couldn't be avoided for a technical reason yet it went live anyway. I've heard that a lot of work went into it, but not nearly enough to prevent this in my opinion.
Good to hear, thank you. Have fun, I'm sure it will be for you.
I mentioned the issue here as comments are public. Not everyone looks to keep things like this among friends. Some do it out of ignorance; these are the people the message is meant for.
But the best solution is to just host private games for friends that like to run the patch as well, looking for players subforum has plenty of people who like using the patch.
