Make a loop by jumping down to the area behind the ammo machine first. Work your way through and up the ramp back to the travel portal to Eridium Blight. Your loop is done in a counter clockwise direction.
Open everything along the way, kill all baddies. Exit to Eridium Blight, reenter Sawtooth, and run through the areas again. LLMs that spawn will do so near their boxes, sans baddies, save for those that respawn in over time.
I tend to get 2-3 LLMs each time. Adds a little variety to play, and I can play with my Greed along the way.
Wildlife Preservation Reserve in my experience as long as you have the Doctor's Orders side-mission active but not completed.
To farm TC for midgets you do still need to make the full loop. Midgets are already a rare spawn and if you limit yourself to the MAYBE 20 or so chests/lockers in the first area (from No man's land to the bridge) then you drastically cut down your chances at seeing anything spawn at all.
on the flip side If you start at the Annex.. You can run right back out the door and jump up the cliff face to the right of the waterfall at the preserve. and its ALWAYS 4 midgets unless you pick up any of the mission items, You lose a midget for each one collected.
Total time For Wildlife is right around 2 minutes unless you go into ffyl from a badass along the way with Guaranteed spawns.
TC loop is right around 4-5 minutes with A high chance of not seeing anything for several runs.
By the way I am playing on normal difficult in my first run for not playing Borderlands after long 11 years.
If you have the DlC for the Creature Slaughter Dome. it's much faster, and depending on the gear you have, you can skip the first 2 rooms, plus you can get a chance to get tubbys plus pimon and tumba that you wouldnt get in thousand cuts
If you dont have the Dome I will be much harder and time consuming to run to the other end of the map, but you have more chances to find tubby, I would only suggest this if you have either a faster way to get there, like a rough rider with siren, axton speed glitch, or zeros deseption,. and some way to take hits along the way like a turtle shield.
Thousand Cuts with enemies its going to suck, having may people shooting at you and also try to focus on boxes, its possable and you will get lots of exp just like running threw the presurve, but with less badasses. not recomended
Ideal Thousand Cuts If you dont have much of any gear this its the best way to get some, its all random what you get plus you only need to kill the midgets, and nothing more. my avarage for the bandit camp is about 3-4 midgets and 5-8 if you have good RNG, but the loot should be the same as any other midgets, but it hasnt been for me personally.
Personally I would because i have the Dome, I do the Wildlife Persirve and I get 2 things each time, maybe 2 relics or 2 pearls. i would rather fight the 2 or 3 badasses for a garrented 4 midgets then to rely on RNG
The dome is ok but you're only guaranteed tubbies in wave 3 (if memory serves). Loot midgets are the preferred option if you are heading to wildlife.
And it's simply more fun for me.
i've never seen a Tubby Rakk before (those Chubby Rakk for that one mission in the Torgue DLC doesn't count)
