How do i 'farm' quest reward items?
Like the sandhawk or the correct fiber for gaige.
Do i just Alt+F4 right when the quest reward comes up before i acutally take it?

Either Alt+F4, restarting UVHM, or turning your save file to read only as well as the back-up of said save file and keep turning the mission in til you get the item you want then putting that into claptraps stash

You can do that or you can Read-Only farm which is much easier.

To Read-Only farm open you save file:
C:\Users\<User>\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\SaveData\<Steam ID>

Select the save file you want to Read-Only farm and then
right-click > Properties > Security > Edit... > Tick the Deny box for "Write"

Then load your save file, and turn in the quest, if you don't like what you got, then exit to main menu, but your file won't save, so you can keep turning it in, then when you see that you get something you like, then untick the box next to "Write", then your file will save.

You can do this too, if you want different versions of the same item, but it's sort of cheating, so just use gib. As I always say: "If you're going to cheat, at least be efficient"

Farming quest rewards in general is gonna result in some form of cheating unless you constantly restart UVHM or have multiple characters.

It's a lot different to get the parts you want on a gun, than to purposefully get multiple versions of a gun, that you should only be able to have one copy of per playthrough; the comparison is laughable. If you don't want to encourage actually playing the game, that is up to you. This is how people become dependent on save editors: "Too lazy to go through the game I'll just get myself a few more Lyuda's because I already have one perfect one."

The point of this thread is to help someone, not debate, so this is where I unsub. I gave my opinion to someone, not you, so if you don't like it that's your problem, I wasn't talking to you in the first place. :steammocking:

You're discussing the build customized weapons option in Gibbed? I look at the matter this way ~ if the developers meant for us to understand weapon parts for the purpose of building optimized versions in Gibbed, they would have made it so but they've chosen not to get the players involved in modding guns so far in BL1 BLTPS & BL2. Cut to second half 2016 when Gearbox on their own sites' BL forums invited BL series' communities to contribute creative and critical ideas to BL3 in development. Many players suggested GBX include (at least a modified version of the FOSS save editor) Gibbed which is also supported by the GBX developers ~ the idea is being "strongly considered" so we'll see what we'll see when we see it. How is using Claptrap's stash cheating? It's a mechanism built into the game by Gearbox for among other things, this purpose.

Efficient? No. But not everyone uses the stash for what is being described here, nor does everyone want a particular weapon in all flavours (I know that I don't, but maybe I'm in the minority). More often than not, I tend to use the Stash as bank overflow.

Some use the stash to farm weapons for other toons, some don't - they see doing so negatively. Perhaps you are in the latter camp as you see it as "sort of cheating", which is fine.

But regardless of usage, it's a purpose-built game mechanism for sharing gear between toons on the same account.
