Best class to solo entire game with?
Hey all it's been a while since I've played Borderlands 2 and I'm looking to play solo and I want to know the easiest class to solo with? Thanks all.

Edit: Alternatively since it sounds like all classes can be solo'd, which class do you find the funniest to solo all the content/DLC's.

Honestly, this is a silly question to ask. Any class can be soloed to 72, or OP8.

"Best" is highly subjective.

Aside from easy mode, broken Sal, as Agarillobob wrote above, each toon's play style suits different players differently.

I found Maya and Axton easiest to solo to OP8. Ymmv.

There's actually a hidden class in the steam store.
Here's how to unlock them.

Step 1: Shut down your computer
Step 2: Restart your computer
Step 3: Delete your steam account (This will help when playing the game)
Step 4: Buy boarderlands 2 again (along with all of the dlc)
Step 5: Repeat steps one through 4 exactly 3 times
Step 6: Play the game. (Playing the game is a popular strategy when it comes to completing the game solo).

I think Zero honestly is one of the worst for Soloing since he doesn't have good self sustain like other heroes.

I would say Salvador as he has a great tank \ dps build.

My first solo OP8 was Gaige. I have since done Maya, Axton and finally Salvador. My OP1 Zer0 is still there because I am not that fond of playing him, and I don't play Krieg at all.
I now have several solo OP8 Gaiges, Mayas and Axtons.
Sal is a tank when gunzerking, but is rather average when he isn't.

Just like Krieg who I'm learning now, if you adjust your mindset about Zer0, he's very self-sustaining.

The problem comes when you try to play him generically, like any other toon.

Zer0 isn't meant to tank.

If you remember this, and that he's an assassin, he can definitely be soloed.
First playthrough was with Axton. Currently on my second with Krieg. Axton is the easier choice for solo play, but Krieg is really really fun.

What are you talking about? Krieg heals off every kill with his ability, has an ability to heal from all overkill damage, and if you go Hellborn he can heal from elemental damage. How does he not have a ton of built-in sustain?

As for Zero, you could try some form of transfusion or Leech grenade, or a Rubi or, ideally, Grog Nozzle. Yeah obviously that won't make him a tank, but it will give him a reliable means to replenish his health.

As to OP's question, Salvador is generally considered the most powerful character, if that helps. Doesn't necessarily mean the others can't solo content or get you to the end of the game, but if you want the easiest/strongest/most reliable character, it's probably him.

Though do keep in mind that won't necessarily answer which character you'd enjoy most. I do like Salvador, but personally I think Krieg might be more fun, in both Melee and Hellborn specs. Haven't tried explosives build yet.

Its whatever fits your playstyle. If you are a no talent hack, then I would say Salvador. If you like a little more methodical and practiced play, the use Axton. If you want to play a very edgy high risk game, then play Zero. All of the vault hunters have been played solo to end game thousands of times over. It really is the player controlling them and how well they undersand the game.

I played Gaige solo from 1-OP4 using nothing but sniper rifles. There is no reason why anyone can't take any of the vault hunters all the way to the end.

I only tested Gauge and Solder so far all the way through to UVHM and Gauge I was able to make it all the way through UVHM barely, Solder I couldn't make it more then half way through the story, and I am in the process of using the Siren now (Maya), I love the toxic cloud skill on her its been very helpful

Reoden: Most of your reaction is owing to a clarity error on my part. My reply was to "The | Suit"'s dislike of Zer0 for apparently not having "good self sustain" (their words).

I shouldn't have included Krieg in the first part of my reply without further clarification. Certainly you are correct about Krieg's healing skills. My intention had been to group the two as "different" characters to play, in terms of the mindset needed to be successful.

However, much of your response deals with how to heal Zer0 using external tools (all applicable to every toon), which is all correct. You missed the Legendary Hunter mod. This is what my main form of healing is for him as I've worked on getting him to OP8 without trope OP gear, nor healing guns.

These things weren't what "The | Suit" was referring to.

How does what you write address the original comment of Zer0's "self sustain"?

Maya has healiing skills, Axton too, it's likely that Gaige and Sal do as well as part of their skill trees. I don't play them.

Zer0 for certain does as well, but only as part of his Bloodshed tree; it's quite possible not to experience these skills if one sticks with sniper or blended sniper/melee builds. It is this scenario that I had in mind in my response.

Someone playing melee Zer0 would already be aware of Zer0's built-in healing skills and wouldn't have made the comment they did.

Maya, Salvador or Axton.

salvador is basically a walking cheat code

Do say that Salvador is the most DPS class in the game and is the easiest to master.
