You might also want to check the properties of the file directly too.
Also, while you're there, make a complete backup of your save folder (including your profile.bin file). Try to do that on a regular basis, especially if you play co-op games a lot.
Your saves should be in a folder with a really long number (which is your Steam ID). You should back up that entire folder.
The reason why I suggest that especially if you play a lot of co-op games is because some people run the (so called) Cheat Engine. If they're the host of a game you join, they can then manipulate your save file, making all sorts of changes to your character (which you might, or might not want). Having a back up protects you against unwanted manipulation.
Do you have OneDrive (or some other cloud service), if so it may restore it. The saves are in your Documents folder, something commonly synced with those things? (shot in the dark)
