Most Fun Class?
I'm just starting out, but I think I've an idea of how long it will take to get from 1 to max in this game and I'd like to ensure that I've the most fun possible from start to finish.

So, I'd like to hear from the community what the most fun class is.

Additional, keep in mind that I sprang for the GOTY edition; so, I've the extra two classes.

Also, I understand that everyone has their own preferences in game approach. As for me, I don't have much interest in either the Mech OR the Commando because I do not enjoy relying on some AI ally (too many bad experiences have rubbed me the wrong way on that mechanic). If you happen to enjoy them, cool, but I don't see myself enjoying playing something that can just magic up an AI to do their fighting for them.

Always liked Axton myself. The turrets provide a lot of utility options you don't get with the others.
Putting my $0.02:
"Most fun class" is purely subjective, and TBH - it should be based on player's personal preference.
That said, feel free to try them all. Look for guides, try something at your own, and have fun.
My personal favorites are Axton & Maya, but i like to play other classes, too.

Krieg.

He's easy to learn and easy to master, he's overpowered as hell until you reach UVHM (practically /godmode once you unlock his Release the Beast ability), needs no good gun drops to be effective, he's hilarious and tragic at the same time, he's just a ton of really stupid, mindless fun. Seriously, nothing can come close to challenging him, and it's so exciting just charging around the battlefield like a maniac, swinging your buzzsaw-on-a-stick and hollering memes.

I prefer Maya for when I'm trying to go for a serious experience rather than just screwing around on Easy Mode though.

Oh, and I totally agree on the AI thing. I want to *play* the game I bought, I don't want to just press a button and have the game play itself for me. I wish I knew what I was getting into when my first pick was Gage, she's absolutely everything I *don't* like, which is a shame because I thought she was badass just from how she looked and sounded, like an older Tiny Tina. I kinda hated Borderlands 2 at first because I picked her on my first run.

I enjoy playing as Maya. Sometimes I will use Axton or Zer0 with a Sniper build.

Definately Krieg. He can run around with no regards to his health and smack ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the face, basically the only character that gets easier as the difficulty levels go up thanks to his skill tree being rediculous. When you get his build going, he becomes an unstoppable beast that destroys everything in his path and cannot be stopped; except by buzzards, which are any melee characters arch nemesis. Also badass cosntructors... rpg loaders to. Srsly wtf are these enemies? Besides that, the only problem is that until you get to Release The Beast, you kinda suck. Though this isn't a huge problem; being weak early game is hardly a problem really, as the first playtthrough is generally easy (til you get to the badass constructor guarding the Bunker and try to run up to it and die over and over xd) and you should have good enough weapons to not have to rely on your BAR really. A few tips on weapons though; don't use assualt rifles.. they suck. If you have the contraband grenade from having the special dlc or whatever; make good use of it. It's op af and is useful at any point in the game; though it's pretty dangerous to yourself. Here's my weapon categorizaiton : Assault Rifles: They Suck. Shotugns: One of the best weapons in the game, limited by range of course. Pistols: Very good, not as much dmg as shotguns but generally the 2nd best gun type Snipers: Sit back and pick off scrubs from afar with easy headshots.. good dmg but not anything compared to shotguns. Smgs: Pretty good, though pistols are usually better (espescially DAHL pistols, which have burst fire when ADS) RPG: Meh. I rarely use them, but they do a ♥♥♥♥ ton of dmg and are good for taking out tough bosses or getting a second wind. Though as Krieg, second wind changes completley (for better or worse depending on your buffs and the situation, usually better) with light the fuse. Also youou want a gun of every elemental type (early game you won't find a wide varietyy of elements, but as the game goes on they become available. Also you can get a weapon of any element from Marcus's first quest where you test all teh elemnt types; just start the quest and take the weapon: easy. Best used to get the slag pistol, as you won't be finding any slag weapons during the early game. Slag wepaons are pretty rare during the first playthrough, so using the one from MArcus's quest is pretty op. Also try to have weapons of various weapon types; having all pistols or shotguns will limit your ammo pool to that one ammo type, and you'll run out of ammo quickly. Though ammo usually isn't much of a problem if you use it correctly and pick up ammo from every available source. Also, health regen skills are generally useless on most characters except for maya, and maybe gunzerker past the first playthrough. You're gonna need more dmg output way more than you need survivability; and your survviability buffs hardly make up for the dmg being dealt to you. Unless you're playing Krieg, who if built correctly gets insane dmg reduction (like 75%+ dmg reduction, that's incredible) and heals all of his health every kill he gets; that's insane survivability. No other character even comes close, his only weakness is an effective ranged attack as throwing your buzzaxe doesn't work to well agaisnt Buzzards and whatnot (Becasue they're really hard to hit with your axe). And yeah you want to go melee Krieg, Hellborn Krieg with guns kinda sucks as fire is the worst element in the game. (All yellow health bar enemy's and enemy's with shields resist fire, along with enemys that are of the fire element. That's like over half the enemy's in the game, those fiireballs kinda suck) And using guns negates the whole point of Krieg; Kreig is melee character, the besti n the game. Once you get Release The Beast, you can basically use your action skill at all times if you can time it right, which isn't hard. His melee dmg is rediculous; though you'll need silence the voices as teh difficulty levels go higher, and your melee dmg becomes negligible. Though once you finish Mania and go into Bloodlust, you become an insane dmg dearlier. The bombardier skill adds dynamite to your buzzaxe when you throw it; most people don't realize this dmg counts as grenade dmg. He has a kill skill that increases grenade dmg for a short time after killing somoene; Making your throwing axe do even more dmg than your melee attack. Mania and Bloodlust will be your main trees if you want to be beast; and once you get Bloodsplosion the real fun begins. It makes enemy's you kill explode and deal dmg around them based on the overkill dmg you did to them (dmg done over their hp, like if you kill a guy with 1hp left, all the dmg dealt after that 1 hp left is the overkill dmg) and if they manage to kill someone with this explosion, it chains and the dmg multiplies, becoming absurdly huge. Once you get a chain going it will destory anything caught in it's range; multiplying up to many more times the dmg indicator can even display (i've seen it go all the way up to 9,999,999, which isn't even close to the dmg actually being done). The power of multilication can be scary, and definatley makes him the most powerful character in the game by far, though it's limited in situational use (which makes him suck against a lot of bosses) TLDR: USE KRIEG HES ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AWESOME, and makes the game actually fun.

Jesus christ @everything paragraphs dude, they are a blessing.
Personally I liked zero the most even on UVHM you can one shot literally everything and abusing his Bore ability never gets old.

imo Maya > Gaige > Axton > Krieg > :zero: > Salvador

EDIT: I played all, so to find your most fun, play them all to least lv 50 for skill points and continue the one you find better to your taste.

Maya and Axton. Gaige is pretty good fun too. Sal is boring. Zero and krieg are a bit harder to grasp at first.

If I were you, on my first play, I'd go Maya.

Lol thanks.
all classes are fun. Salvador's gunzerking is obviously a homage to John Woo's Hong Kong action movies (since a couple of his films has the protagonist dual-wielding weapons at points)
