Which Vault Hunter do you use?
What does your skill tree look like? bl2skills.com
What gear are you using currently?
If you want to play with others, go here
Ricochet Fibber works well too, as alternative to Sandhawk.
But If you're playing Zer0, you shouldn't struggle on this fight. *cough* B0re *cough*
You can also just Flak/RL him, but thats not legit strat
And putting my 0.02$...
You may get really bad RNG streak on this farm, up to became highly overleveled b4 starting UVHM. I'd rather look for easyer-to-get RLs, like Badaboom, Creamer, Topneaa. Heck, even non-unique blue/purple Torgue, Bandit or Vladof rocket laucher are decent on UVHM.
Couple things you'll want.
-If you're this far, you should have a sandhawk. Fire is best, but I've done it with non element and shock.
-Bee shield
-A corrosive launcher, preferably an Etech. PBFG, Topnea, or Prazma Canon. A normal Bandot launcher will work and probably others.
-Short fuse Singularity grenade. Any element will work. It's really only used for grouping, but slag is best.
-Rubi or grog.
Start by the pipe near the enterance and lay into him. You should get off 2 clips before his first aoe. Dodge behind the pipe when he uses it.
When the aoe passes, run toward him, throwning one grenade behind him to group two or three of his minions. Do the same for the two in the front. Throw a third grenade to group all three of them if needed. Alternatively, if you're maya, you can phaselock for the last grouping.
Slag them if needed. Pull out your launcher and fire at the group. If all goes well, you'll knock them all down 25% health and hyperius will lose his shield. You want al four minions to raise their shields at the same time. If you miss one, you can pull out a corrosive weapon and try to take him down quickly.
Sandhawk hyperius in the face, pulling out your rubi or grog to heal when needed. Firing at him from a distance and immedietly switching to your rubi before the pellets hit will heal you up pretty good. When his shield goes up, repeat the launcher strategy on his minions. You may have to throw another grenade to group them again.
When the minions have lost their shields for the third time, Hyperius will enrage. Keep your distance and circle the arena. When he leaps, sprint away, turn and fire. Again, use your rubi or grog after AOEs. Always keep your distance.
This may sound complicated, but once you do it a couple of times, it becomes rutine. Don't be afraid to die a few times while figuring it out, or to change things to suit your play style and character.
Happened to me beore too. It's worth a shot anyway.Sometimes you can find a way to be more efficient to eek out a kill.
Hyperius goes into rage mode when he's at 1/3 of his health.
unless you can kill hyperius within seconds, i'd rather suggest you farm the ultimate badass varkid in the natural selection annex.
it is guaranteed to spawn on round 2, wave 5 and vermi is very likely to drop a norfleet.
when the master gee 4 player glitch was fixed back in 2015(16?), the solo spawn rate of vermivorous was increased, the UCP further increases morph rates.
i'd say i've gotten vermi to spawn in 1/6 runs (without the UCP), a run takes about 10 minutes, depending on how much time you give the varkid to morph, i usually quit ~2-3minutes after he spawned. in about 5 vermi kills i have dropped 3 norfleets.
Makes sense especially since Hyperius drops Norfleet & that's about it and the Creature Annex doesn't cost any Eridium either. Good stuff Trap!
Get a redundant ricochet fibber or a practicable conference call with close enough skilm. If youre playing gaige with anarchy and rely on aiming, then you are playing her wrong
even without that hilarious exploit, the Flakker is one of the best weapons to use against Hyperius whenever he casts his shields up.
The reason for my answer, is because the projectiles from the Flakker will simply "flak" around and still deal damage to him, all without the risk of your shots being reflected back at you.
