Did you abuse the random rare loot from "The Talon of God"?
When this quest starts, Mordecai mentions the townsfolk wanting to give items to you. You are given the quest objective of talking to claptrap, as well as optionally talking to the rest of Sanctuary's notable characters,

After some dialogue, each of the characters will generate a random Blue or Purple "loot" specific to each character(Tannis gives Relic, Zed gives shield, Marcus gives gun). They hold it out for you to look at and then take if you so choose. The objective of talking to them does not complete until that item is taken.

However, if you unload the area, by quitting out and reloading for instance, each character has been reset to an idle state. This means they must generate a new random rare loot to give you, and also means that you can infinitely cycle this loot generation instead of just finding it normally.

So, did you figure this out and use it to get better stuff?

Not worth the time and effort.
While levelling up you'll be swapping out your gear very frequently.
You'l be getting tons of looting from Heros pass & the Warrior anyways and the last chest before entering the Vault is such an easy farm if you really need to upgrade stuff.

In UVHM you're much better off spending your time to farm some unique quest rewards, Legendaries, Pearls or Seraphs to get the most out off your character and build.

Decent way to go after relics though.

That’s cool.

Glad to have told you guys about this. The first time I encountered this, maybe a couple of hours ago, I started to grow suspicious that the game might let me play "loot cycler" for longer than is healthy.

After Tannis presented a Purple relic, and it was the least useful thing I could have possibly gotten, I noticed that the quest objective for talking to her was unfulfilled and unchanged. On a hunch, I quit out and loaded back in.

The hunch was that this randomly generated item wouldn't be reproduced the second time I spoke with Tannis, that it would be a different item of identical value. That was indeed the case, and each conversation went as though it would the first time. Feel free to take advantage of this in case you're offered junk at this point.

It could be actually very useful to get a specific relic(some people might want a stockpile). Also being a guaranteed grenade mod that Scooter gives he could be farmed for a Transfusion or Singularity. The other items are not worth it through.

Nice find man!

Any mission reward can be reset by alt-f4 before you accept it. I do this every game for certain items or they can be complete ♥♥♥♥.

Better set your save file to read only and then farm without alt+f4. Just hit the character selection menu and select your character after you save and quit to refresh the save.
Also if you want multiple versions of the item just store them in the claptrap's stash before save and quitting.

The same thing applies to Moxxi's weapons, meaning you can tip her until she gives you a Good Touch, exit the game, and the Good Touch will still be there but Moxxi won't register as having given it to you.
