How do I farm this thing?

There is a legendary smg called the flying emporer. I saw a guide on steam that said you could try and get it by farming Assassin Wot in SouthPaw STeam and Power. I've been farming him for over an hour and instead I've been getting a different blue rarity, red text, electrical smg. I'm not sure if that is the correct boss to farm for it. Any help would be appreciated.

The Empeor can drop from any of the 4 Assassins. So, yes, you're in the correct place, but kill all of them, not just Wot.

Also ... I'm sorry to have to inform you of this, but you should know ... Southpaw Steam and Power is one of the maps that's most notorious for physx bugs. Stuff falls through the floor sometimes. Try to learn (using cheap junk you don't care about) which sections are stable and which aren't, and try to kill the bosses when they're standing on the stable parts.

You can also fight the assassins at the Peak. I've hand a fair few Emperors drop there over the years, including one a couple of weeks back. Might not classify as prime "farming" given the time needed to get there, but it sure is fun!

The LLMs drop the Emperor too. I had one drop at the Preserve after a midget spawn from a chest enroute to the four LLM boxes.

It's not a very good SMG but you already know that if you've used it - there are many better than Emperor in the game. I'd like to be more positive about it but I can't say I've ever known anyone who's liked it. Anyway, there's other cool stuff that drops all around Southpaw and you can enjoy that. While you're farming there, don't forget to check the red chest up near the ceiling about halfway through after killing the first two assassins but before you reach the second two. the most easiest drop is at the peak but personally the smg is pretty terrible to me

Part of it to me is that i got super lucky and had a lvl 8 one drop in the southern shelf my first playthrough with less then an 2 hours played. It was an amazing gun for where it dropped and i just kept using it.

It's a solid SMG and far from terrible.
The Emperor doesn't do anything special and faces a strong competition in its respective class but even on OP8 it performs well enough.

Yeah, I've used Emperors when I've had them, they're not awful. The Bitch is better, but the Emperor is decent enough.
