Why do people suggest using the vending machines to get a DPUH
I don't know if I have been lucky or not, but I have gotten 2 double penetrating Harold's in 15 minutes of farming (I'm new, so I don't know if I am insanely lucky or not)

If you have the Torgue DLC, there are vending machines that sell, as an item of the day, torgue legendaries, but you need torgue tokens in order to buy from those vending machines.

Yes I know that, but I don't know how rare these tokens are and u got each one of my dpuhs in 15 minutes, so did I just get lucky?

I would say, at least rarish (that's a word now), don't remember the last time I had a DPUH drop. Then, I don't farm it as much as some, I tend to take the first one that drops.

The torgue tokens aint rare at all. Just farm pyro petes bar for them. Got access to sham + norfleet then you can speedfarm those tokens in there.

There's a 1/7 chance you're going to see a Harold in a Torgue Vendor while Lee has a 1/10 chance to drop it.
Checking a Vendor is faster than farming Lee.
So if you want to farm for parts, the Vendor is more efficient in the long run.

Farming for parts while levelling up is redundant. You'll need a replacement every so often and any Harold is a powerhouse.
Racking up 600+ tokens and farming a vendor can easily be more time consuming than farming Lee for a drop while levelling.

They use a specialized-for-BL2 vending machine called the Torgue Vending Machine (details worth reading are here on the wiki http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Torgue_Vending_Machine ) to get an Unkempt Harold pistol or any other Torgue-manufactured weapons in the game -- legendaries are "items of the day." Why do they buy Torgue-weapons there? Because they can. Your two x double Harold drops within 15 minutes was simply an extremely rare event determined by the game's built-in RNG program (Random Number Generator); if my experience serves as any guide, you'll repay that lucky event to the game at some future time when you're looking for another special gun lol. Have fun :steammocking:

If you are seeking any old Harold, the most efficient way is to quick farm Savage Lee. Once you want to get a Torgue grip DPUH, the machine is a better option, though the odds of that piece of hardware appearing are quite low and it usually takes many many saves and machine checks before you see the magical "DPUH with 28 mag" appear.
