"Can't find file '..\..\Binaries\..." when trying to exec
When i try to exec a mod (for example the unofficial community patch) it says "Can't find file '..\..\Binaries\...". I have my mods installed under the right Binaries folder and i've been searching for a long time but can't find a solution wich is why i am making this thread.

Please don't shorten anything out to dots, except for privacy reasons ofc, and post the entire error message instead, if you can, as this helps tremendously in trouble-shooting the issue.

Did you include the extension when using the exec-command? Usually you are executing .txt files that act as the mod/patch in question, so if I want to execute the UCP printed on a text-file called profile, I would type "exec profile.txt" into console, where profile.txt is a valid text-file located in the Binaries-folder.

what you probably did was put the text file into the win32 or redist files, make sure it's in the binary folder with those folders but not in the folders themselves.

that's why it won't work

Same happened to me, i had Patch.txt in my binaries folder and borderlands the pre sequel said that they didnt find it when i wrote exec Patch.txt in the console. It worked for me when i instead wrote exec Patch.txt.txt

The problem is the exact error message is quoted in its entirety here. The dots are included in the actual error message. These replies are inappropriate.

Ugh... that's not the user's fault... I hate it when Microsoft thinks "Hey, we should just hide extensions from users unless they specifically turn it on", causing these issues with things like patch.txt.txt or run.bat.bat

And yeah you're absolutely right, make sure the file is named correctly in that microsoft isn't hiding the extension from you making you think you type it correctly, or do as Grostymito says and if at first it doesn't succeed, just add another .txt for good measure.

Thanks Microsoft.

Don't bump threads this old. Make a new one.

Have you tried Verifying your game files?

(Right-click on the game in your Steam library, Properties, Local Files, Verify. Might help, might not, but it's always the first thing to try).

But then there are multiple threads for the exact same topic.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
