UVHM friendship gulag + W4R-D3N at level 51
Seems unbeatable. The bots spawn as fast as I can kill them and there's no time to dps the boss. The smallest bot just barely dies to slag + 2 sniper headshots. I've got the commando nuke build, impact+ranger+critdamage relic, slag SMG, 24k +15% physical sniper rifle, a level 50 tidal wave, 17k x7 shock transfusion grenade, a 22/22 protection relic, and 54000/7700/2.82 sprinting turtle shield. Pretty much any hit will wipe out my entire shield. And pretty much the only way to kill anything without wasting half my ammo or dying is slagged sniper headshots from long range.

nuke is "bad" go for 2 turrets in UVHM even if it just functions as distraction its way worth it
or go for slag turret

middle tree end skill is just worse then the other 2 especially in UVHM

To add to what's already been said. Enemies in UVHM take reduced explosive damage because it's not their designated weakness. I mean, they take significantly reduced damage from whatever it is they resist, but enemies may as well have explosive resistance attached to them as well.

I know from the number of times I've attempted to use a launcher to get a second wind. Thankfully the Norfleet is a thing...too bad getting one is a pain.

Axton, being one of the original Vault Hunters in BL2, was not designed with UVHM in mind as that feature didn't come until later. So, it's understandable that some of his skills are terrible for the mode, especially the middle tree skills.

I think most people go to to Double Up on the Guerilla tree. Have the turret slag enemies and you kill them as you slag them. You can take just about anything in the tree to get there except laser sight and crises management.

Then you either want to go to Gunpowder and hit Longbow and Do or Die. An alternative to that is to go survival and get Phalanx Shield and Mag - Lock.

My build would look like this: http://bl2skills.com/commando.html#50055145015005014010005000000000

His kill skills Metal Storm and Onslaught are really good. I can't recomend them enough.

If you are dealing with lots of loaders, go back and farm a Hornet from Knuckledragger. It is one of the quickest farms in the game. Getting a corrosive relic would be helpful too although you are long way from farming loot midgets, you could farm Tinder Snowflake and hope that a corrosive relic comes on the Loot train.

Actually, his middle tree is where some of his best skills are. Metal Storm and Battlefront are top tier skills. Do or Die is a game changer. One point for a 10% grenade and rocket damage plus being able to chuck grenades in FFYL. Its kind of stupid OP with the Fastball grenade or just about any other grenade mod. Considering that a lot of guns with splash damage is also considered grenade damage, it is makes even makes his Torgue and Tediore reloads even better.

Oh, I completely forgot about that! My bad. Yeah. Tossing grenades in FFYL is definitely a good choice in any mode of play, especially if you've maxed out his grenade cap (which is freaking ridiculous!).

You could leave and come back after you've gotten better gear for the fight. If you're in a situation where you could not save Roland at the Bloodshot dam then you obviously need better gear...unless you allowed Roland to be taken, but that requires dying multiple times to the loaders and the Warden.

So I respecced to this: http://bl2skills.com/commando.html#55055105015005010000005220000000

I got a pointman with last ditch effort and pressure, and a 30% cooldown relic
dropped the difficulty down to TVHM and played Torgue DLC for the first time to gear up.

Fun build, I just run around at ludicrous speed hitting everything point blank in the face with a 8330x13 +50% Jakobs Tidal Wave (gets 2 shots as fast as you can pull the trigger, and then reload is almost instant because of talents). Farmed the tier 3 bar brawl easily. Savescummed to get a nice Corrosive Kitten that should help on that fight when I come back to it.

Explosive damage is the same in all difficulties. The only enemies with any weakness to explosive I'm aware of (even on normal) are Brittle Skeletons, however I can't rule out there are some particular enemy types that get explosive resistance in UVHM.

Or that enemies that already had some damage reduction against explosive on normal have a higher one in TVHM or UVHM, although that's only a small number of enemies I believe (at least some in Tiny Tina do).

I still I think it's just because they have so much more health.

it just comes down to gear. I farmed the chest at the end of hero's pass on TVHM until I got a legendary class mod and an unkempt harold. Then I came back and easily destroyed w4r-d3n on UVHM. The harold is still pretty good at level 57 on UVHM even tho it's only level 50.

The Harold is a god-tier weapon on here. If you wanna get an on-level one, farm Savage Lee in Three Horns Divide. He'll always be at the Marrowfields (where you save that guy from 3 psychos), and occasionally at the bullymong spawn area behind the fast travel there. Real easy farm, btw. He's just a mini boss psycho with no special moves. Good luck! (oh and nice Heavy pfp too-- Pootis pow, haha!)

Yeah herold is good. I hate it cuz its the answer to everything. But my second maya beat normal mode with a level 11...bladed with hyperion grip... the worst version in the game lol. And its an amazing side arm for axton.
