Borderlands 3 so what's upgraded in visual terms ?.
So we have a lot of gameplay to go of but for me it seems more quality of life improvements over visual upgrades in terms of just textures i can't see an upgrade from Borderlands 2, the major upgrades seems to come from lighting remember this trailer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cw2gXq83n8&t=1s

They still have objects baked into a ground textures like rocks and cans, and the plants and grass still look basic (but i did see they react to the player) and now are vault hunter casts there own shadow so a few upgrades but again it's very little gee i don't even see more complex models assets.

Also it maybe on the consoles but why do the demo's of Borderlands 3 take 10-12 seconds to load into a level meanwhile on my PC Borderlands 2 takes like 2-3 seconds again the levels in the demo's are about the same size of maps in Borderlands 2, and i thought load screens would be gone i no there's no way of that happening now but come on where not limited by the Xbox 360 and PS3 at least it's not metro Exodus levels of bad it takes like 2-3 minutes to load into a levels on PS4 meanwhile on my PC 2034 and Last Light take like ten seconds max.

A major goal was real-time global illumination using voxel cone tracing, eliminating pre-computed lighting.of earlier engines But the feature was replaced with a similar but less computationally-expensive algorithm prior to release for all platforms including PC due to performance concerns. UE4 also has new developer features to reduce iteration time - you can now update C++ code while the engine's running. The new "Blueprints" visual scripting system updates UE3's "Kismet" & allows for much speedier development of the game logic without using C++ ~ it includes live debugging, another major advance. All of these advances result in much reduced iteration time & less of a divide between technical artists, designers, and programmers. There are quite a few games that have already been developed & released using UE4 over the past four years and you can easily check them out now rather than waiting to see BL3 when it's released https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Unreal_Engine_games#Unreal_Engine_4

Pretty much everything was upgraded, maybe not by a HUGE margin where it looks photo realistic but in terms of preserving the art style while still looking better.

I just hope the online isn't so laggy like what we got now.

Judging by other UE4 games I have played with an online component, it should be far more robust.

not only using UE4 with DX 12 or DSLL ,but also u must upgrade a new power graphic later.maybe RTX 2180TI

It's meant to look cartoonish though, it's not supposed to be photo realistic.

Right, it's the traditional BL look we've watched evolve since - I guess - BL2. But this is more a design decision than an aspect due to the game engine. Kinda like the aspect of reducing lag / latency is more a hardware-based function we'll (theoretically) see improve over time with more robust ISP speeds / bandwidth, improvements in game server technology and the wider proliferation of SSD's replacing HHD's among the gaming public. Sure, software solutions like game engines can tweak these things, but they originate with the hardware and improvements in that.

It can still be prettier cell shading

It does look better though, people saying there is no difference are blind.

Imo the cartoonish artstyle is less prominent than before. Felt like it had less/thinner outlines and overall more specularity than BL2 from what i've seen. Still looking gorgeous

Just looking at some gifs I found in article, the Lighting is definitely better.

Light actually illuminates objects and reflects off of them, something that's just about completely absent from 1 and 2. There also seem to be more lighting effects in general.

I can't tell if they're just baked effects, but it also looks to have geniune volumetric lighting rather than the screenspace effect from 2.
You know the rays of light you get while looking at the Moon or at the cieling hole in the Caustic caverns? With true volumetrics, that light can cast on the environment regardless of where you're looking instead of only when the source is on screen.
