The more ammo left in clip of tediore gun while reloading the more damage you will deal with exploding gun ( you throw them like granades to reload )
Longbow granades can fly much further, they bassically teleport to place you want them to be.

Really useful if they have a zero fuse timer on them, the property that they can stick to surfaces or both combined for some hellish fun.

So, If I fire say one round from a pistol then reload and throw it?

The DPS is amazing if you do it that way, and works best on Axton and Krieg, however you will use up ammo very quickly at lower levels because presumably you wouldn't have accumulated enough eridium to buy ammo capacity upgrades.

Yes. The total damage if you hit an enemy will be number of bullets left x damage per bullet. Can cause a lot of damage. Tediore chucking Axton can be very powerful.

OK...lemme see if I have this right....If I have a Tediore weapon--fire it--reload it--it then becomes a throwing grenade more or less. Right? Also, if this is how it works can I throw it later or does it have to be thrown then and there?

Unless it is out of ammo, you can reload it whenever you want, otherwise it will automatically reload, as most weapons do.

Any Tediore weapon that is not full can become a grenade when you reload and aim it at an enemy.

When reloading, your character throws the weapon as a grenade and it explodes (the weapon is disposable, per se). Immediately after emptying it (or hitting reload), the gun has served its purpose, a new exact copy of that weapon will materialize into your hands. It's like an alternate reload animation when compared to other weapons that actually does damage (if you land the empty gun on an enemy). This can be done as many times as you want, provided that you have ammo for that weapon. There is no catch. It's the only way to reload a Tediore.

You can do it whenever you feel. As mentioned, the damage of the explosion depends on how many rounds you had in the clip when hitting reload. It can be helpful, it is fun, ads a new gunplay element, and the weapon's "reload" time is very short.

There's a tediore shotgun that when you reload it doesn't turn into a grenade. It turns into a moving, floating shotgun that fires itself. Lots of fun :)

Well it is a grenade actually. The thing is that it flies around under its own power, and when it finds a target it homes in while firing at it. Quite the fun weapon, but you only really get to see it at its prime at longer ranges, at close range it just hit something and blows up.

The big down side of Tediore is that all the bullets leftover in a mag are lost when you reload. As implied by others, Tediore weapons can burn up ammo rather fast if you reload mid mag often. However you can also use them just like a normal weapon if you wait till the end of the mag to reload. Stat-wise I found some of the Tediore SMGs to be quite good on their own merits (unlike say Bandit weapons which tend to end up very underwhelming), and often use them with the reload grenade being largely a secondary feature.

Standard grenades are lobbed in an arc, while Longbow grenades hover in the air for a split second when you throw them, then teleport to the spot you were aiming at when you threw it. Longbow grenades are very accurate, even at long range, which has its uses.

Thanks to all responders you have my gratitude, it's one of the best features of Steam. I've gone 26 lvls not knowing these answers and should have known to do this earlier. Again thanks--Wet
