You do the mission for Marcus trying out the guns, but use an infinity. You can shif + tab out while shooting, let go of the mouse and then shift + tab back and leave it. It will keep killing the dummy and Marcus with keep telling to to change guns.

It is, slow and inefficient. It's bad enough when someone does that on their own, but to ask someone else to share in the mind numbing boredom is worse.

If you are going to use glitches/exploits to level up you might aswell just use Gibbed instead its faster and easier.
