Unstopable maniac gunzerker.

Slot 1 - Double Pen Unkempt Harold
Slot 2 - Grog Nozzel
Slot 3 - a Ahab
Slot 4 - This can go two ways. Either if I am fighting a boss near I use the Flakker or if that's not simply an option I use the Pimpernel and I have two (Shock & Corrosive)
My simple little setup that about it
gunzerker - slag weapon in one hand, double penetrating unkept herald in the other
Maya - ruin special to slag and move enemies around with resurrection ability form middle tree.
Gunzerker gives them ammo regen via legendary class mod.
@ OP #Frog you're very welcome. That site link to forums dot gearboxsoftware dot com is the main forum for BL2 players as well as the best / main forums for all the other GBX games too. I describe the site's contents as being the "only forums any Gearbox gamer really needs for strategies on any / all the Gearbox games" cos it's built by, moderated by and participated in with the GBX developers who built the GBX games. You'll see when you look around there it's really all you need - it's also unique for its zendesk dot gearboxsoftware dot com where you click into your GBX game of interest - say BL2 - to email the BL2 devs directly with technical issues you can't solve on your own - this is called "Filing a Ticket" about tech issues you've encountered that need a technician to investigate / resolve & they'll email you back with their results & personalized fixes within 7 to 10 days of your first contact.
So far as pushing yr Sal further up thru the higher / highest Levels / Modes starting @ Lvl 50 where it's essential you accept the shift upwards to start UVHM Mode as soon as BL2 offers you the option, you're good continuing the casual enjoyment you two guys have already experienced in 2-man Co-op. My best suggestion is to fill out your team with another two family members / trusted friends who are also @ your same Level / Mode in order to push all 4 of you thru to endgame at Level 80 / OP8 (or thru to endgame at Level OP10 if you've installed last week's new DLC release called the "Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary"). I'd create the 4-man squad strictly for "private games" and that way you can avoid using the frightening "matchmaking" program. The game is hardest to reach endgame in Online Coop and so b/c you're already "paying the price for maximum risk" you may as well "get the maximum return by running a full 4-man team AKA 4 people are better than 3 or 2 for online coop." Remember in future that all the BL series games are written / designed for Solo Play which is also the relatively easiest way to reach endgame. As you've discovered they added Online Coop as a secondary option to improve sales but well I'm glad you're enjoying it. I've also played the coop option with trusted friends & my kids who are game developers & my grand-kids who I taught.
I also recommend you bookmark and continue using thru endgame(s) this 2nd site called the Wiki for solid one-page descriptions / definitions of everything Borderlands-Series-Related in easy to use single Searches. The site starts at https://borderlands.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Content and from there you click into whichever BL series game you want from these games in their order of developer release dates ~~~ the Gearbox-developed titles BL1 then BL2 then BL:TPS then the soon-to-be-released BL3 & the separate Telltale-developed TFTB Enjoy!
