2) Is that number more than 6?
3) You've got your answer
From the wiki page, can you tell on a point in the game where more than 6 Sirens have exist at the same time?
Borderlands 3 spoilers:
Angel's powers were transferred to Tannis, making the number of known sirens 2 (Lilith and Maya), but still 6 existed of course, one being Tannis which we wouldn't know at the time. In Borderlands 3 Amara, Lilith, Tannis and Maya are sirens. The calypso twins "steal" Maya and Lilith's powers. They are eventually reobtained, but Maya's are transferred to her apprentice, Ava.
The number of known sirens was 1 in Borderlands 1
The number of known sirens was 3 in Borderlands 2 and then 2 when Angel died
The number of known sirens is 4 in Borderlands 3 and it hasn't exceeded that number, due to character interactions (if this sentence seems weird just remember in the trailers when Lilith said she was a "former Siren", that's a hint).
If you add anything to this discussion please use a spoiler box to respect Borderlands 2 players.
Edit:
Sorry, I forgot about commandant Steele ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forgettable characters, so there were actually 2 known sirens in Borderlands 1
So in Borderlands 1 there was 3 sirens as the fact is that Angle was giving guidence already back then.
In Borderlands 2 the number have not change as Steele die in first and we get Maya insteed.
In Borderlands 3 we must take a closer look on everything.
Take Age in to the account, Steele, Angle, Lilith, Amara and 1 of the twins was Siren at that time, the male count as a Siren-parasite taking power from Sirens and dont have any on its own with in turn mean we had 5 Sirens at a given time out of 6.
So it isn't more sirens than there are supposed to be, but is it still overkill with how many are active in story at the same time?
Also: I think it is too convenient how many of them are in your party, like Tannis, I'm not sure why, but her being a siren just irritates me and feels lazy. At least Ava and the twins are new.
I started this thread because I'm curious what other people think. I think because I didn't like the story it might be tainting my opinion, but I feel like a siren is really no bog deal at this point.
Tho i agree with you, bl3 story is pretty weak compare to earlier storys in bl serie, and Siren dont feel so "WOW" anymore as there is a Siren around every corner right now fighting for the good side.
It also seems like anyone that's a siren is also destined to die at some point. Any female character can become a Siren. So, Siren Ellie when?
Moxxi is a siren, her ability? That's easy, sugar. Phase-SEDUCTION - able to seduce anything and anyone.
Thank you Gearbox, you can hire me now :D
Here power? Phase-EXPLOSIV! The power to blow everything up, with there mind!
First off. It is said in the Eridian Writings that Sirens are drawn to one another. This is meant to explain why Athenas has so many Sirens in it's history gathering to it, and also why Sirens gather too Pandora. The 7th Siren is also sort of on Athenas. A part of her anyway.
On that note, the Siren count might also be busted. Because Tyreen and Troy are both supposed to be one. Typhon said they are both Sirens. We can assume Troy doesn't count towards the 6 total though. As he is more of an anti-Siren in concept. His power mirrors Tyreen's power in a way. He is not a female and can suck the powers of any Siren he comes in contact with. His tattoos are red instead of blue as well.
Then we got the 7th Siren I mentioned earlier. The author, or narrator of the Eridian Writings. She is a Siren. And she's not exactly dead either. Her existence is questionable and ambiguous. Which is why I'm not sure if she still counts as a Siren. She is very much related to the machine that seals away the destroyer. A part of it? Only a Siren can operate the machine that seals away the destroyer, and that 7th Siren is probably why.
Jack lies, all the time.
Maybe he was telling the truth that time, but it's probably safer to assume he's an "unreliable narrator".
The only person i can imagine, who could discover the same thing, is Tannis (or she might already know, but doesn´t tell us.... she allways has been lying and is the last connection to Jack, since she was his wife and mother of Angel)
