Vaughn is Painful. And srs question.
so i just started some of the bl2 dlc & after 2 interactions with Vaughn, i already despise him.

he's supposed to be wimpy, but he doesn't look it. in-fact his design doesn't really say anything interesting about him at all.

he's crushing on ellie fsr. it's not even made into a joke, so it's just... like, why? okay?

he's apparently a bandit but he behaves like the biggest 1st-world pampered stereotype.

his voice doesn't even sound interesting, it's just default civilian.

a literal unvoiced psycho with text-bubbles would've been more interesting than this... droid.

VVV
but seriously, is this dlc (fight for sanctuary) supposed to be the one they released recently to prep for bl3? because i've heard so much shady stuff about that game & crappy character design would just completely put me off. cool character design's borderlands' strongest feature after-all.

You really have to watch Tales from the Borderlands to fully understand Vaughn. His character was made and established there.

Yes, that DLC was recently added to transition from BL2 to BL3. I never played it so I can't speak to it's qualities (or lack thereof).

For what it's worth, the characters in BL3 are very well designed.

(Saving Sanctuary DLC)it's terrible from what i've seen so far. this vaughn guy just doesn't fit, and his interactions with the other characters serve no purpose & go nowhere, yet fsr he's almost always at the centre-stage of situtions that have nothing to do with him.

he's like a bad RPer trying to ram his OC down your throat.

i don't get why they'd add a character from a telltale game into the main game & (if what you say is true) impliment him without any changes to make him make sense to people that haven't seen him previously.

i have enough reasons not to buy bl3 already. from the keylogging to the lead dev Randy's perverted scandals, microtransactions, scams, shills & abuse of other employees. but this. this just depresses me, cause it pretty much says that bl3 will pretty much have trash like vaughn as the standard.

and with thisDLC being made at the same time as bl3, and presumably by bl3's devs, means that this dlc reflects their ability to make characters & dialogue for bl3.

Telltale got a okey to do a game that focus around borderland AS long as gearbox/2k can take a look at everything they put in the game as it is official part of the borderland story.
Tales from borderlands take place after bl2 but before the commander dlc they release.
Gearbox/2k should buy the right from Telltale and keep selling Tales from borderland as you miss some really fun part in the story

Fight for Sanctuary ... reeks of an earlier unfinished project recycled into a teaser-and-rekindle DLC to prep BL3 launch. Also, it's probably not written by some external small studio as the other three DLCs, nor has it been the main project for Gbx like Tiny Tina's DLC, but probably a sideline one to keep the design department busy after they've had their BL3 work finished. Also it's an adaption of a char devised by even another Studio.

So I'm not amazed that the result seems somewhat ... slipshoddy.

you seem to have some solid experience with bl2's dlc. would you say the earlier releases were better? cause i got the whole shibang from a dice-roll with an unlucky friend & i really wanna know if it'll be worth play through the rest.

in case anyone gets the wrong idea, i don't hate bl2. it's just this 'FFS' dlc (first i've tried) that's rubbing me up the wrong way.

In terms of the larger dlcs, fight for sanc was better than hammerlock, on a par with Torgue arena and worse than Tina's and pirate booty.

If you only play one dlc, make it the Tina's dragon keep one. That one is brilliant.

Story was ok. I feel like the DLC was mainly done to give people closure by giving bosses with increased Legendary drop rate.
