Borderlands 3 has sold over 5 million copies in five days

Borderlands 3 has sold over 5 million copies in five days, with the bombastic shooter selling twice as many copies as its predecessor Borderlands 2 during that launch window.

Publisher 2K also revealed the threequel has broken its five-day launch sales record on PC which is a particularly notable revelation given the fact Borderlands 3 is a timed Epic Games Store exclusive.

Beyond that, the game also pulled in the highest percent of digital sales for a cross-platform, cross-distribution title, with over 70 percent of consumers opting to purchase Borderlands 3 digitally so far.

All in all, it's a performance that means the entire Borderlands franchise has now generated more than $1 billion in net bookings, making it the second franchise in 2K history to achieve that milestone.

Yes I believe Steams hold on the industry is passing. There still going to a be a player however. Matters if those stores like UPlay and Rockstar start making there game exclusive to there store. I can see Epic growing very fast however after such a success with Borderlands 3. developers are going to see this and be encouraged by it. They dont exist to make Steam rich. They want as big as slice of the pie as they can get. Afterall there the ones that make the games. Steam has no part of making anything . They just sit back and rake in the money.

lol Epic has very little to offer and keeps making stupid mistakes with their terrible launcher. And all these exclusives will go to Steam eventually anyway. We'll see who has the best launcher when Cyberpunk 2077 launches on all three. I am betting Steam sales will eclipse both GoG and Epic combined, though I hope GoG gets a lot of sales. Epic really doesn't have all that many amazing games on it.

Youtube channels are speaking of and showing data of borderlands 3 selling poorly on amazon and the xbox and playstation stores.

I do not trust anything coming from the 2k channels.

Activision/Blizzard games - exclusive to their launcher
EA games - exclusive to origin
Ubisoft - exclusive to uplay
Rockstar - exclusive to Rockstar Launcher
Microsoft - there is gamepass so no one will buy on Steam

and everything else - exclusive to Epic Store.

Steam is far far from dead. Epic has a percent of a percent of the games of Steam, and AAA games upcoming look more favorable to Steam anyway. Epic is closer to death than Steam is. Just stop right now before you make yourself look more foolish.

It sold way less than it was expected to, because of both the exclusivity deal AND the utter stupidity of take 2 in general. Even then its still BL3, so of course its going to have at least adequate sales (I love how they gushed over how it sold more early on than a game thats super old and had a much smaller fanbase when it came out).
