From the name of the gimmick alone, it should key in that recoil reduction bonuses actually hinder Hyperion weapons by design. And it does in game-play. It makes it so Hyperion weapons take longer to become fully accurate, and at some point, they become incredibly unwieldy, the gun actually shaking the screen as if it were the worst gun ever (although the recoil isn't as bad with anarchy gaige, who can cause literal screen quakes with enough stacks). The only cure for this is a Hyperion allegiance relic with the max accuracy buff, which almost negates this entirely.
And Krieg Melee builds and BN + RR Maya both benefit from having no/the lowest recharge delay possible. Naturally, bonuses that make that higher would be detrimental to their build. Krieg would have his shields up more often, which would make him weaker. And with enough recharge delay bonuses, the shield can actually regenerate and break the build entirely.
I am disappointed that they have made this mistake yet again. Weapon proficiencies in BL1 at least didn't negatively impact any weapon, build or character to my knowledge. Why couldn't they do that? Or just make it so you can respec? You can respec skill points, why not badass tokens?
I did not know this about BL2 but it DOES explain a couple of things in hindsight so thanks for that.
HOWEVER; I don't think it actually influences Hyperion guns in BL3 the same way but I have way too little guardian rank to actually say for sure (lvl 72 most in the first skill tree). I have the feeling the crosshair actually contract faster though but I couldn't say for sure seeing as the increase is less than 1% per point so you tend to get used to it. Having said that....the Legendaries that give you MASSIVE shields but 1 hp (and vice versa) still exist for builds such as a Krieg-like build though I've only found a couple of minor abilities that would work with something like this and considdering TVH+M3 REALLY hurts I doubt anyone would actually enjoy playing a 1 shot class this way. (Even on JUST M3 mode)
1. Since when did you become a mod?
2. I remember distinctly a mod saying there was no problem discussing BL3 in a BL2 forum as long as the main conversation of the topic involved BL
3. No; as I'm complying with point 2. this is mainly about badass/guardian rank messing up certain builds; OP even taught me something new about BL2.
ACK! FFX my true weakness...the only game I've literally bought 5 times (2 discs broke from wear, then got the steelbox remaster....then got it again on Steam+ disc I still own because of the previously 2 broken ones) good choice man.....have fun with that :)
Errrr...well, re-get it, anyway. I think at some point my mother handed down the PS2 version, but my PS2 is uh...not compatible with my HD TV. Gotta get an AV to HDMI cable (or two) and a HDMI switcher box...and some controllers.
Oh, although, back on the subject of BL3: I've just thought of something, but...just in case they introduce another playable character that's similar to Krieg (ie, negative 'bonuses' = stronger) can you disable BAR or parts of it? For those of who don't mind missing out on the other stat bonuses?
