It might be one of the seraphs that was shifted UVHM/raidboss only. In this case, Pyro Pete.

Some seraph gear gets reassigned to raidbosses in UVHM and can no longer be bought in the vendor. Pete drops it, like dontu said.

glitch him behind pillars if u are having trouble killing him.. but imo he is easiest to kill through all the dlcs

and I disagree with Pyro Pete being hard to kill. if anything, he's the easiest raid boss

If Mr Torgue himself says he's easy you no he must be, it's his dlc :P

Hoplite sucks anyway, your shield is gone in like 3 hits and then you're left with 1hp. Farm an evolution from hyperious instead. I'm basing this on a hoplite drop I got from pete when I was op7 earlier today and just running back to the fast travel in the beat down. Several million shield is just destroyed. Would, and do last a lot longer with a sham in that area.

It's probably only useful in normal and tvhm where shields actually protect you. :)

I've actually thought a bit about this, I find pete while technically is the easiest once you get him trapped, he is the most tedious to avoid his novas while whittling him away.

For me hyperious is easier in the way I can kill him way faster than pete, but I have to make sure I get him damaged to certain stages in unison with his robots and time my turret deployments so I can finish him the fastest when he starts jumping around. So in that regard I suppose he's harder.

What kind of Zer0 are you?!

Axton. Never said zero. :) Also applies to my zero actually, but replace turret with deception, which is much easier to control and deploy as turrets take aiming and deploy time and leave you open, where as deception is instant.

And also dammit, I was meaning to link this, the list of items so you can check if the vendor has them for uvhm: http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Seraph_Vendor

Why do I think of you as a Zer0?!!!

Dunno, I do tend to swap between axton and zero in discussions to what I was playing the most at the time. :) Since I reached op8 solo on my axton today, it's him. :)

Not sure if anything is different in uvhm, but tvhm Pete is easy even without the pillar exploit. If you get hit by his nova you will continually take damage over time until you go down; you wont regenerate health passively but transfusion, etc. will still heal you. Healing like this doesn't stop the DoT though. To stop the DoT you need to turn the wheel that spawns the enemies from the pipes and 'wash' off the effects in the water. Again, haven't tried in uvhm so I have no idea if you can still do that or not.

When I started doing raidbosses hyperius was the first I tried. Everything was fine until I killed his bots. Then he grew to the size of a house and destroyed me. With Pete, I can (as axton) throw my turret down and just let her lay into him while I keep him slagged, at least until I get my slag turret anyways...
