Multiple Quest Award Farming
So recently I found out that you can farm quest rewards without force closing the game by going into the game files and setting the save file to read only. The probelm is that I followed the exact steps but when I save and quit (after selecting read only on the file) and then reload into the game I still have the quest reward in my hand (when I reload the game the quest should still not be turned in because the game can't write down the save if the file is on read only or something like that). So to all those people that are familiar with the game files, am I doing something wrong? And if so could you write down the proper way to do this trick?

Thanks

1. If wanting more than one variant of the reward item, clear your stash beforehand.
2. Turn off Steam Cloud before doing this .
3. Readonly save000x.sav and save000x.sav.bak.
4. Turn in and accept the item whether you want it or not.
5. If you want it and it's the only one, simply alt-tab, delete the .bak file and unset the readonly bit on the .sav file. You may then save/quit/continue, or walk over a savepoint.
6. If you want more than one of whatever, take keepers to the stash before save/quitting. The stash is in your profile, not your character save.
7. Whether you got a keeper or not, when you want to try again, you save/quit, then you must reselect the character you have on readonly. The version in RAM just turned in the mission and accepted the item. If you merely continue, the game uses the copy in RAM. To force the game to load the copy on disk, you must reselect the character each time.

That worked great. Very nice explanation. Thank you :)
