Go to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries\Redist
Run the installers, you may have a dependency with corrupt file/s.
Thank you for replying. The only security software I have now is windows defender, I don't really think it would block any of my game files. Also I have ran all of the installers, but still it doesn't work. Do you have any other idea of what could have went wrong? Thanks again for replying
I have uninstalled QQ... but unfortunately it does no help... thank you for your help though
-nolauncher
Some have issues with the launcher.
You might try going to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries\Win32
Right click Borderlands2.exe and select run as administrator.
Sadly I have tried both before, and none of them seem to work... thanks for replying
to do this, in your Steam Library right click on Borderlands 2
go to Properties then Local Files and click on Verify Integrity of Game files.
Yes I have, countless times. It always shows that one file is missing and downloads it, then the same happens again and again, it never gets fixed. All my friends show this same issue but they have no problem playing the game. Do you have any idea of what I should do about this? Thanks for you reply.
My issue is that Windows Defender in Win 10 denies access to certain protected folders that the game needs to use.
Bring up Defender, goto Virus & threat protection setting and scroll down till you find Controlled folder access.
***Keep in mind that allowing applications to bypass part of your computers protection is potentially dangerous.***
After I was able to isolate my issue being this part of defender I was able to click on Allow an app through Controlled folder access, and add the borderlands exe as an exception and my issue
went away.
Exe should be found in the steam directory at Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries\Win32
If you are still having issues you can do the same to the launcher, I dnd't seem to need that though so I haven't done that.
If this works for you then you won't have to disable defender to play. Hope it helps.
