You taking the Gear, from Claptrap furnace. And, you should take a walk, from Claptrap's Place to Eridium Blight, without:
1)Vehicles
2)Fast-travel Stations(Level transactions are approved)
3)Dying.
Geary ALWAYS on the top of the volcano, at the Eridium Blight.
Your course should be like that(after completing game, of course):
Claptrap's Place -> Sourthern Shelf -> Three Horns - Divide -> Three Horns - Valley -> The Dust -> Eridium Blight. Volcano is left to you.
Have fun!

The LotR easter egg is three rakk flying in and dropping 3 red chests.
Time to head to the audio settings....
Futile. The Bane sound will still play. You would have to turn off your sound output or volume.
I mean. I've done it. It's not too bad. You just have to be extra careful in the Dust. Also, you need some superb grenade jumping and rocket jumping skills when you get to the volcano (the bane makes you too slow for some jumps)

The Hoplite actully doesn't do anything. The Bane already reduces you to minimum possible speed. It doesn't stack with the Bane.
I still ♥♥♥♥♥♥' laugh at how someone actually killed Pyro Pete using the Bane
