I've heard that the Sawbar assault rifle is pretty good in Maya's hands as well as Zer0's, if specced into "Vel0city" and "Accelerate" respectively (especially if it spawns with the Fast Bulets prefix). but heard it really shines in the hands of a Hellborn Krieg
For my Zer0 and Maya, these six have been go-to at various times: Bekah, Carnage, Butcher, Storm, Avenger, Stalker. I'm a big fan of these though most players dislike Storm (I feel it's really good for Gaige too). And most don't take the time to learn the phenomenal pistol that Stalker can be - invaluable for my OP8 Ricochet Trickster Maya build equipping Antagonist shield with 6+ points in each of Kinetic Reflection, Chain Reaction & Life Tap - Southpaw Steam Power is a perfect practice map to test the strengths of this build.
since players tend to favor the Maliwan Snider as a preferred sniper rifle, the Storm is basically an upgraded version of the Snider
yeah, the Volcano from the original game was pretty strong (maybe borderline OP). though I did enjoy using the Torgue Cobra, since that weapon almost always kills enemies in 1-2 headshots
