Forest Bee farming woes
Is there a quest that you have to accept or NOT turn in to ensure treants spawn in the forest?

I seem to have some glitch in which there are not many treants spawning, outwith the first guy (who never drops anything) and the two down by the house where you find Ellie's bikini. I've ran it many times and there's definitely something not quite right about the spawn rate of treants.

In the meantime, Hunter is feeling the full brunt of my farming. If anyone has knowledge or experience with treants spawning very rarely, please reply if you've encountered this before.

Did you progress the quest line past that area? Two of them (the ones in the bloody pool) may be quest related.

You have to kill stumpies in the area past the first spider den to get the treeants to show. Thats on the left, below aubrey the depressed teenage tree. There are two that spawn there who can drop it. Usually killing 3 stumpies does it, but sometimes you have to kill more. There is the one by the blacksmith cottage who can drop it, and the one by the mimic chest, who never gives a bee. If you have done tree hugger, go into the center of the orc camp and kill orcs until two more treeants spawn in the camp. They can each drop a bee. Then there are the two bloodpool ones, who can also give a bee. So, 9 treeants total, 7 can drop the bee.

OK thanks! I've been running through too quickly by the sounds of it. Will take it slowly and make sure to murder the stumpies. The area dontu mentioned is where I've always found bees before, so I'll check that out and take some time to kill the stumps first. Thanks.

Appreciate the offer but I like getting my own stuff.

I love it when these parasites get shut down.

If you happen to have the Critical Fail mission open, I think (I'm not positive) that that keeps the 2 treants by Aubrey from spawning, probably because that's where that mission ends.

Also, here's a tip that I got from someone in this forum a long time ago:
If you accept the mission from Aubrey, but don't take the sapling from her, there will only be a few orcs in the village in front of the blood pool. That can make farming the pool much easier.

I only killl the treeants up to the first one at the blacksmith's cottage. Much faster that way.

That's my usual run too (Although I kill both by the cottage. Did you really mean "first one"?). Sometimes I'd skip the field by Aubrey too, since those 2 treants are sometimes slow to spawn, and just run past everything and go straight to the blacksmith. But some people like to farm the pool, and it can actually be pretty quick if you spawn at the entrance from Immortal Woods, especially with only a few orcs to deal with.

I have never seen the second blacksmith treeant drop anything worthwhile, let alone a bee. And thats in hundreds of runs.

The ones in the orc camp, I never did the treant quest yet they still appear, I find if I go to where the fallen tree is to goes to the blood pool they spawn in then. Makes it easier to kill the orc king when he's fighting them.

The first group past the first spider den, I get the fairy up on the hill next to the chest, then I run through to what can / can't be the mimic chest at the edge of the cliff near aubrey, and after opening that the treants just randomly spawn. I don't kill the stumpys. Might be a timer.

I've never tried to keep track of which treant by the blacksmith dropped what, and just assumed that either can drop a Bee, like the 2 by Aubrey. I may try to check that one of these days.

I usually keep tree hugger quest open, then enter the map through magical forest (or whatever its called, the one after this one in story), and kill the 2 treants in the bloodpool. Rinse & repeat.Just don't die, cuz u respawn at the start of the map instead of the entrance of magical forest.

(Tree hugger quest open = less orcs in the village)

Thanks for the info! Didn't get a chance to try out some of those suggestions yet but will do so soon. Hopefully it'll be remedied by killing stumps because I don't want to reset the quests again.
