3:28 my weapons are like that

The glow is more apparent in darker areas. Also E-tech weapons generally have more glow compared to standard weapons.

If you want the same kind of glow you need to use the same kind of weapon in the same area to be able to make that comparison. Go to the same area as shown in the screenshots and videos and then check with whatever E-tech guns you can find.

Also, in the first of the two sample videos you provided to demonstrate the washed-out look you don't like, that video's purpose is to demonstrate how to change the game's natural appearance in order to give a more washed-out look by modifying the Microsoft default settings of the game engine. This can be a dangerous thing to do without understanding what you're doing - the maker of the video confirms that he does not know what he's doing and he is just following someone's suggestions and he has passed the info onto you. Whether you modify the game default settings without knowing what you're doing in this manual manner by modding the game engine or by using third-party software to automate the process, unwanted or poor game experience can easily be the result. I was interested in your OP because (perhaps without knowing it) you raised an important topic that is oiften discussed on this forum - the appearance of the game under modified game engine settings. The Microsoft-based game engine Gearbox created for BL1 BL2 and BLTPS is called "willow" which is their licensed modification of the very popular underlying game engine developed by Epic Games called "Unreal Engine 3".

It appears you are very interested in particular video aspects ("glow") of this game. Frequenttly, YouTube gamers will upload videos of modified games without mentioning that they have done this and it creates a false impression that the appearance of the game in their videos represents the game's natural appearance. For this reason, when asking help with adjusting a game's apperance, it's much preferred to take your own screenshots of the game to share rather than relying on YouTube videos. It's just a recommendation.

Here is the relevant page on Unreal Engine - Gearbox is currently developing the next Borderlands game in the series by using for the first time the newer Unreal Engine 4 for which no open-source modding kit has been made available by Epic Games and, because of this, no automated third-party modding software can be made available. Epic Games has indicated they can't forecast releasing an open-source development kit for UE4 until 2025 at the earliest. Happy gaming :steamhappy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unreal_Engine#Unreal_Development_Kit

Youtubers have also posted videos depicting the use of modded weapons or, I suspect, modded BAR. I did not realize this until I tried some of the feats depicted, with identical gear and similar build, and netted a fraction of the damage on, say the Dragons or Voracidous. After thousands of hours ingame, such concealed cheating is now pretty easy to spot.

Dont believe everything you see on youtube.
