Disable damage numbers
Is there anyway to disable the damage pop-ups?
Google gives me multiple threads, but all links are broken there :/

Don't argue pls that damage pop-ups are part of Borderlands, I know they are, but I still would like to disable them. I can't see anything with Maya when using Ruin, Cloud Kill and Helios...

Yes, all the flying crap and associated effects hinder gameplay at times, but that's what they went with. There is some way, but it involves 3rd party software, wh8ch if I recall is VAC-triggering.

It does look like its possible to "disable" or hide the damage numbers.

You may want to check out post #15 in this thread:

Yeah I know that there is no "option" to disable damage pop-up, but there is a way to delete the textures of damage pop-ups or make them transparent. But all links I can find on Google are down :/
Has someone a working link to the files? Or re-upload them when using it already?

Borderlands 2 doesn't have VAC I think. Sure you have to be carefull not having that programm still running in the background when playing other games^^

Borderlands does not use VAC or any other anti cheat software what so ever. And has never done so either.

Reread what Black wrote. He's not talking about Borderland's VAC integration, which doesn't exist.

I may be persuaded to upload my files. But I am not willing / prepared to make a tutorial for you.

I've been using the texmod / make floaters transparent method for a good while, but it's a bit uncomfortable to use - you have to trick Steam with renaming the Borderlands2.exe into something else, then rename the texmod.exe into Borderlands2.exe, start the game which will start the texmod app where you have to manually browse to the copied BL.exe, then select the package mods you want to load.

There is another way where there is this tools that automatically does this for you, but that's another app you need to run and blah, plus it doesn't work with Steam believing you are playing BL2 in my attempts.

But if you don't so this, Steam doesn't think you play the game which may or may not interfere with online play.

Also, my mod makes the critical AND resistance floaters go away too which may not be what you want.

So yeah, definitely doable, and I still use it the complicated way, but it's not for everyone, fiddly the way it is.

Edit: And to be honest, I have no clue what files belong to the Texmod anymore, so that upload may be faulty, too. Though I'm sure you can still get it online - just need to be more thorough in your search.

i think you can't hide it whatever you do or w/o any use of 3rd party programs. just beware of using it. you might get vac in other online games (cs:go for example) if u accidentally forget to close it.

or maybe try checking borderlands 2 mods github page they might have something similar to what you want there..

imo if it was in the game I would remove everything but the resist part.

Thanks for the enlightenment !
Well if it is really that complicated I wont use it for now. But can you still please upload it, so I have the files on my computer when I want to spend some time to fiddle arround with it? Or that other players can use it? :)

Very well, here goes:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/oz2qa0lcnbulvll/NoFloatersTexModPack.7z?dl=0

I will keep that file deposited for a week or so, so grab it if you're interested.

I made an archive with TexMod, the NoFloaters mod file, and the TexMod Mod Manager (that third tool I was talking about - supposedly you can use this to prevent that fiddling around, but it never worked for me with Steam accepting the game is running - maybe you have more luck, or simply ignore that manager file).

I have no idea wheter or not some AntiVirs will give alerts - there's an .exe file in there after all - but rest assured that I do not spread malware.

If you have issues figuring it out, try google for setup tips.

Edit: And it's not all that complicated, it's just annoying to start the texmod, then manually browse to your Bl2 folder to get at the copied .exe - for some reason it doesn;t save your latest location, so you have to browse there every time you start the game.

But it works. And again: this mod disables ALL the floaters, not just damage - so be aware that you need to have good grips of what is resistant and be confident that you can crit without the indicator.

Makes for a more fun gameplay though, but that may just be me.

I did this specifically because I'm also annoyed by games with floating numbers without the option to turn it off.

Edit again: And please remember, I will not leave this on DropBox infinitely - so grab it while you can, people. I will take it down in a week or so. It's not my mod, and I don't have permission (or even know who to ask) to upload this, so make it quick and I will remove it after a few days.
