Ever thought "Man, if I had a gun that could [mechanic], this build would be just perfect." Then you were ducking pissed that such a gun did not exist!? Well how about we use those brains of ours to creatively pretend those guns exist!

I always wanted to make better use of Gaige's LBT tree, specifically Electrical Burn. But I could never get a weapon that could proc EB in ridiculous levels, especially in OP 8. So, why not have a gun specifically made to unleash pure elemental hatred on the poor bastards that stand in your way!

Guileless Hatred
Maliwan SMG
Red Text - Rule No. 19 - DoT dealt from this gun stacks. So the DoT has a ramp up from decent to DEAR GOD.
+Clip Size
-Bullet Damage
-Chance to inflict Elemental Effects, less than average for Maliwan, just to make it balanced.

This would work as a gaige capstone or a gun imo

maliwan sniper
fires bolt action speed
same stats as sniper
ON BODY SHOTS: has a high chance to deal elemental damage
ON CRIT:Halves the chance of a DOT being placed, but the damage ticks deal crit damage not regular

Same with Grog Nozzle healing effect.

For giggles: Flakker's effect on a high RoF SMG.

To keep it realistic (in game terms) I wasn't using multiple unique effects. Going that route:

Sand Hawk + Nukem effect
DPUH + Grog
Giggles: Flakker + Bane - for co-op play, of course

Maliwan Tsunami SMG from BL1 had high accuracy / damage / fire rate, large mag and +400% alternating shock & corrosive rounds which ricochetted once to second-closest enemy. S&S Serpens AR from BL1 had low recoil, high accuracy / damage / fire rate, large mag and +300% to +400% corrosive rounds. Anshin Rose from BL1 was an excellent tanky shield. I wish they had returned in BL2 - replacements for Tsunami are unavailable in BL2 but you can find similar to the Serpens and Rose.

I liked Wee-Wee's Super Booster myself as my go-to shield for fighting Crawmerax. as for pearlescent shields goes, the only one i've ever found, was a Hardened Ironclad that dropped from a Badass Lance Engineer that I killed, while on the way to Knoxx's Armory to do the "floor glitch" to farm the chests without setting off the timer.

Agreed - BL1 Pangolin Hardened Ironclad was excellent too (cap to 6000 recharge to 300) - imo similar to BL2's Anshin Blockade. Still, BL1 Anshin Alacritous Rose had cap to 2000 + recharge to 600 and that recharge rate was killer lol. I find only the Anshin Evolution, Maliwan Antagonist & Bandit Blastproof Hide of Terra to be in the same league with the Anshin Blockade among the BL2 tanky shields.

wasn't the Alacritous Rose the shield that acted in a similar way as the Tediore Panacea, where it recharges health rapidly once the shield depletes?

Roland probably makes the best usage out of that shield, due to his Quick Charge skill recharging it fully for each kill made
